The Craft Beer Co, City of London
Very impressed but not surprised after the success of their sister pub The Cask Pub and Kitchen in Pimlico.
This one has more of a traditional pub feel with a beer selection and quality of presentation second to none.
It is only day three and if it gets any better prepare to die and go to heaven.

First class Harveyspub. A wide range of seven or eight harveys ales on last Friday all of which were tried by us and all rated to be in very good nick. It was mid afternoon and when we enquired to have the music turned down they happily isolated it in our area so we could chat away merrily. Bar staff welcoming and informative and beer perfect. No idea about the food, we were there for the beer.

The Nobody Inn, Newington Green
Popped in for a pint during a quiet Friday afternoon and was very pleasantly suprised by the quality of the ale and the welcome. The opening of the Overground make this area accessible to me and my Ungerdgound drinking buddies. We intend to return...

I am a regular in the Jolly for a reason...it's a blooming good pub which is frequented by not only locals but people from all over the country who come back time after time for the great beer and friendly atmosphere. Check out the other comments (if any!) of the negative posters and draw your own conclusions as to whether they are a genuine beerintheevening users.

They had four ales on when we visited and I tried the Doom which was ok. My friends who had the Wadworth 6x said it was excellent. It was friendly enough and I would say it was moving towards trendy rather than traditional. The food looked good and the Landlord was happy to offer a customer a meal from the kitchen that was not on the menu.

The Duke of Wellington, Hoxton
We were on a tour of the area and this was our first point of call. Excellent pint of London Pride, which was the only ale on. It was quiet as it was early but we were welcomed and chatted to by the Landlord/Staff. It obviously is a sports venue as there were at least four TVs all on Sky Sports News (muted). Got the impression it was pretty traditional and not at all gentrified.

No idea why people register on this site just to be nasty. All I do know is the Jolly Sailor is very friendly and welcoming to all, indeed most people in the pub are not originally Cornish but certainly embrace Cornish hospitality. It is a home from home local that visitors return to time after time. The beer? Well, it is certainly the best kept and most consitent in Looe and I can't wait for my return in a few weeks.

After being recommended to this pub a while back and seeing the positive reviews we gave it a go. Adequate but a bit disappointing really. Beer was ok if you like Greene King. It wasn't busy even at 5.30 on a friday but the customers that were there were obviously enthusiastic regulars. We felt a bit out of it so moved on.

I echo BlindTiger. Delightful cosy pub tucked away not far from the City Road/Angel. TT Landlord and Old Speckled hen both very good and the cheese board generous with home made chutney so good it had us asking for more.

Not been in for a while and was pleased to see they have tidied the place up, refurbished the bar, even the notorious toilets were presentable and the Proper Job the other night was the best I've tasted in long time.

I think this is the best pub in Dagenham by far..locals use it regularly..Staff are friendly, it is well used for funcions and meetings...Lager and real ales all in good condition..the interior is beautiful and is listed...the only downside is the toilets need updating..but that can easily be put right..The Sunday Dinners are huge, and fantastic value for money...the refurbished beer garden is a suntrap, and great effort has been made to make it look inviting with new plants and paving...it is what it is..a nice pub in an urban setting...

Certainly improved and the Doom, although a bit on the lively side, was ok. Not really my kind of pub with it's karaoke, quizes and disco nights but some people obviously love it.
Good views over the habour and a pleasant welcome from the bar staff gave it a boost.

The Old Mill House Inn, Polperro
Friendly pub tucked away in picturesque Polperro. Does a beer festival every year and the one at the beginning of October was excellent. There were 30 ales available at just �1 per half via a token system. I tried a dozen (halves) and they were all in good condition. Well done Jan and the team.

Been coming off and on for a while now and appreciate what a gem of a pub it is. A traditional pub in the heart of London with excellent service and beer. The simple lunchtime menu looks appetising but I've never had a chance to try. They still have four real ales on and Doom Bar prevails. Tonight it was as good as any I've tasted in Cornwall. Feels like a home from home proper local for city workers with familiar faces every time I visit.

The makeover and change of hands has done wonders. A nice pub to visit again with good music and great atmosphere on the Saturday night we visited.

Never had a poor pint here (and I've had a few!). Should be in the good pub guide. A lovely old and very friendly pub.
Try it, you won't be disappointed.

The Prince of Wales, Kensington
Visited here for the first time in yeats and was really dissappointed. The pint of Broadside I had was like vinegar and I had to reject it. To his credit the barman agreed and took it off. My replacement Landlord was not a great deal better but I persevered for about two thirds of a pint then left. Has potential but if the beers are always like this they will struggle.

The Lillie Langtry, West Brompton
Not a real ale pub but does an excellent Guiness. Interior a bit drab and they normally have the horse racing on in the afternoon so you can have a bet in the bookies opposite and then watch the race having a beer. All low key and friendly. We don't go in that often but Patrick and Mary always welcome us and reach for the Guiness glasses when we walk in.

Good size St Austell pub where the ale is well kept and the food good value. The staff are always welcoming and there is a raised area with a couple of sofas where you can watch the world pass by. Often stop off here when we are in town.

Newly re-opened with a fresh, smart interior. Kitchen not up and running yet but the Tinners I tried was excellent. The Landlord is a Camra fan and was happy to chat. He plans to get a guest ale to complement the three St. Austell ales on offer and promises all the food will be fresh and locally produced.

I reviewed this pub a couple of years ago and I am pleased to report the Crumplehorn goes from strength to strength. Alan and Sonja manage to combine a pub with an impressive selection of cornish ales and a relaxed dining experience with great food. Over the weekend they offered ale from four cornish breweries at the same time, notably Skinners, Sharps, St Austell and Keltek. Mr Murdochs IPA from Keltek was my tipple of the day and it was in excellent condition.
We sat on the patio in the sun on Sunday afternoon after a superb roast dinner, enjoying a drink and watching the world go by. Heaven.

Could not fault the beer or the service. Their own brewed beer was spot on at very reasonable prices. A highly recommended comfortable and traditional pub. Managed four visits during a two day stay and only had one beer twice, the choice was so extensive and impressive.

The Fishermans Arms, East Looe
Had a great laugh here on Sunday with the entertainment that was on. A locals pub but very friendly to all. Only ever seems to have Doom on but its a good pint. Strayed on to Guinness which was excellent.

As the only Pub in Looe in the Good pub guide I finally got round to visiting this weekend. I was a bit surprised on Friday when the only real ale on was Cornish Knocker, however it was in excellent condition and went down a treat. I went back on Sunday and this time the only ale on was Betty Stoggs, again excellent.
A nice pub with silent BBC News 24 on the TVs. Food looked very good but I didn't try any.
Loses a point in my book for only one ale but this may be a rarity and the beer was so good I will definately be back

I don't know if we were lucky or if the pub has improved but last Thursday they had Tribute, Betty Stoggs, Cornish Knocker and Proper Job. Tried them all and they were pretty good, especially the Tribute. The barmaid was from Truro and happily gave us full pints with a smile and friendly chat. The cornish pasties were excellent. A great view of the street performers perhaps explains the rather expensive �3.60 a pint. But we stayed for four pints so we must have liked it!

A decent conventional pub which is becoming rare in central London. Four real ales on, the Doom Bar was excellent. When I visted mid week around five it was frequented by mature city workers having a quiet drink and a chat. The bar staff were efficient and helpful. Even though it's been decorated recently it still managed to look dated but who cares. Perfect for a pint before you catch your train from Fenchurch Street. Only been in a couple of times on my way home but will visit more if they keep the Doom on.

Michelle and Tim have done a great job to bring the pub back on track. With a fresher more vibrant feel it's great to have the pub worth visiting again.

Lovey cosy pub with great atmosphere, excellent ale and friendly staff. Can be a tight squeeze especially when music is on as it is so popular. Well worth a visit.

Fanatastic proper pub with top class real ales and friendly bar staff. As a newbie to Looe I was made to feel welcome and chatted to by locals and bar staff alike on my first visit. The landlord obviously takes pride in his beer, the Doom Bar was to die for. Nice old cosy pub where you can sit at the bar and feel involved in the hub-bub of Looe or tuck away in a corner for a quiet drink. After trying some of the other pubs on offer I have made the Jolly Sailor my local when I am in town.

We visited early Tuesday evening and were welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable landlord and efficient bar staff. 8 real ales on tap. Tried them all except the Youngs and they were all in top class condition, a credit to the landlord - Keep up the good work.
A simple, no nonsense pub although they did have a tv on mute tuned to sky news and music in the background. Well worth a visit.

The Famous 3 Kings (F3K), West Kensington
I have used this pub off and on over the past 20 years and have seen it in various guises. Its present form is not my cup of tea but Richard the landlord tries hard to make you welcome. If you like a lively sports bar and are not too fussy what you drink this is for you. If you want a more traditional pub with a good range of real ales try elsewhere.

Proper pub with proper bar staff and absolutely top class ales. You do get a few suits cloging up the bar but we go there either at the start of a crawl before they have left their offices or at the end of a crawl when they have gone home. Great home made sandwiches for soaking up the beer. Certainly in my top ten.

The Approach Tavern, Bethnal Green
Good range of fullers ales, well presented. Our early Friday evening visit coincided with what seemed like an after school club where the mums could drink while the children played (outside). That said, it was an enjoyable enough visit and I would go again.

Great time warp pub from the seventies. Decor and bar fittings a delight. Landlord very friendly and keen to top our beer to the top. The two real ales were first class and there is a full range of other largers, Guiness etc. Our visit was on a quiet afternoon, looking forward to an evening visit.

A great pub to eat, drink and stay at. The ales are always in top condition and food fantastic, quality chef produced from local ingredients. Normally four local real ales available, my personal favourites being Doom Bar and Tribute. If you like cider try the Rattler, delicious. Friendly bar staff, especially Franco, and owners Alan and Sonja always working hard to make your visit a good one. Accomodation first class with parking. Occasional live music a welome addition to the mix.

The Crown and Sceptre, Kensington
Do not miss this one if you are in the area and worth a diversion if you are not. The Landlord really looks after his ale, and if you ask him to get a particular one in he will try to please. Continually changing selection of at least three real ales that never fails to impress. Like a mini beer festival every week only better. Food looks good but always too busy trying the beer.

Deuchars IPA always good, staff friendly and a nice atmosphere. Clever use of space squeezing a garden down the side alley, complete with automatic canopy for our English summers. Not unknown for me to pop in for a pint on the way home and all of a sudden its three hours later.

The Bonobo ale brewed on the premises is superb and good value at �2.50. Sam Smiths Extra Stout is available and tasted even better than from the Cittie of Yorke. Good selection of other ales and lagers, but no Fosters, Carling, Carlsberg etc. Beer garden available if you want a smoke as the Pub has gone for non-smoking before 1st July. Sky lights help brighten up an otherwise dark interior.

Great local pub. Perfect for watching West Ham stay up or England getting knocked out of the World Cup again. Don't worry, the TVs are only on for important games. Popular at lunchtimes. You will always get a full pint without having to ask. Has summer barbeques, new year parties, wedding receptions etc. Impressive original interior.

My first visit on Friday and it won't be my last. This is an unsophisticated but very friendly and lively pub, perfect for the end of an Friday evening pub crawl. Not normally a fan of karioke but enjoyed Dave the Landlord's singing and there were some decent regulars singing too. Beer and service very good.

The Old Plough House Inn, Duloe
Re-opened as a Resturant Bar by the nearby Barclay House in Looe. Still perfectly usable as a pub though with Doom, Tribute and Proper Job on when we visited. The beer was good and served in the right glasses. It did have a bit of a restauranty feel about it and the food was indeed very good. We stopped by three times and ate twice within a week so I can give it the thumbs up.
