Ye Old Blue Bell, Hull

Sam smiths is great once you get into it. The pub is quite "locally" but accessible enough. Pool table upstairs and is a pretty unspoilt place.

Ye Olde White Harte, Hull

A dependable drinking pub, excellent beers, and a warm welcome. The beers do not change very regularly, and it could benefit from a guest ale. However, it is a very interesting place, and the hosts are very friendly. Recommended.

The Wellington Inn, Hull

Have lived in Hull for years, but only just discovered this gem ! I'm depressed it's taken me this long to find it! Superb range of beers. If I didn't love real ale so much, I would be able to spend a very long time, (and a lot of money) enjoying the huge range of continental lagers in the giant walk in fridge, visible from the bar. And not forgetting Bernard, my favourite Czech beer from a visit to Prague, and now available on draught (for the first time in the UK) from this pub. :-)

But all of this is set aside for the main event of may be 8 hand pulled beers, from cider to mild, porters and light ales. They change after every beer, so if you find oneyou like, you best enjoy it, because it may not be around for long! A tour de force in exploring the heritage of our national drink!

It took a long time to find, but I'll make sure I make up for it in the future!

Ye Olde Black Boy, Hull

Original interior and a great range of real ales, well kept. Dark and dingy, just like a proper olde pub! Ace.

Walters Bar, Hull

Fantastic range of real ale, and a great atmosphere. An oasis in the fairly dour range of pubs in Hull City Old town.

I agree with Uncle_dunkel, the best beer in town. I go here everytime I am out, and really appreciate the quality and range of beers, and the friendliness of the staff. My brother says that this is the best Guiness he has had in Hull. Much nicer than the pseudo Irish bar Durty Nelly's around the corner.

And we booked the upstairs rooms for a birthday party in February and it was superb. The landlord was very accommodating and the setting was perfect for a knees up.

I'll be back. I recommend you do too.
