The New Inn, Shardlow

Picking up business from the Malt, food is always good home cooked gear. Pedigree is reliable and they have good guest ales including Derby Brewing beers which are good. The small bar is just that and holds around 12 at the most, and its used as a walkway twix outside and bog. Worth a visit though.

Still not going in, part of the new thinking there is 'Lets put more tables in the car park.RESULT!!
Now you cannot park unless on double yellows. Lets attract the PLOD to the fact I am in the pub!! What a no brainer.

About the only good pub in Donn'o Bass always good but carries Fullers ESB and a couple of others as well inc Pedigree, never had a duff pint there. Can be a bit dark and dingy on a overcast day, but if you want a bright garish pub go to the next village

No dogs... as they claim it is a restaurant. My local pubs (10) ALL let in dogs and they All sell meals. When will these licencees realise, they are a pub that sells food and not a restaurant that sells ale. You got a dog? Then you are relegated to standing outside with the other outcasts, the smokers. No complaints about the beer, it is always good and the price is right. If you want to take your dog into a pub, come to Shardlow Derby.

Nice traditional canalside pub, once upon a time.
Now has 2 (yes,2) screens in it and the atmosphere has departed

What a dump!! The beer on pump was crap, too cold and cloudy. Barmaid on duty was too busy texting friends to even serve. Come on Sam Smiths you can do better than this. If there was a minus rating I would give it

Just about adopted this pub as my local, still good beers on tap and good food, plus such a lovely boy behind the bar.

Another new landlord, more friendly and has cleaned the place up a lot. Beer is still good and go in on Saturday for a proper breakfast at best value.

Been back in for a pint since my complaint about food and was castigated in front of customers and staff, not impressed and will not be returning.

Nicely situated pub next to the canal, no garden but outside seating.Used this pub through ups and now downs. The beer is always good with Wolverhampton and Dudley beers, pity about recent food quality. Went back to complain and was ignored. Bit smokey and bit grubby.Short on parking.

Good home cooked value for money food, good selection of well managed beers. Good early doors crowd (natives very friendly) Allows dogs in. Plenty of parking both front and rear

Fell in, crawled out. The beer was Sam Smiths hand pulled bitter that had a good head and lined the glass all the way down. Once we found this pub didn't bother going anywhere else.
I would have made it a ten, didn't let dogs in as they said they served food. The food looked good but could see it for the fag smoke which needed a machete, lots more harmful than a dog. First time in a Sam Smiths but was a relavation. 1 pint premium lager + 3 pints bitter for 5.20. Got around the dog issue as they have a tabled area out back.
