The Chancery Bar & Kitchen, Fulham

Still nothing - the builders came to put some more boards up on the windows, and thats it - We have noticed recently a To Let sign has been put up, so I assume the deal fell through and they're looking for a new occupier.

The White Cross, Richmond

This is a fantastic little pub right on the river. Gets very busy in the summertime, and in the winter it's a nice little warm cove to have a good pint of youngs bitter and while away an afternoon.

I've been here a few times, and always make a point of having a pint in the white cross whenever I'm in Richmond.

Sadly, the only thing that lets it down is the landlord. A few months back he got quite offended when I asked if I could plug my phone in (atleast I asked!!) to charge - despite the fact that we'd been in there for a few hours racking up a bar bill that could definatley pay for the .01p needed to charge a phone. Second time was recently, on a fairly busy night when he cocked up giving me 20 quid cash back and left me 10 short, when I asked about it he stroppily game me a fiver, then when I (politely) quieried that it should be a tenner, with receipt...etc in hand, he slammed open the till, exclaimed that he "couldn't be bothered with it" and threw a fiver over the bar to me.

All in all - the pub rates a good 9/10 for me, but the grumpy landlord severely lets down the atmosphere, so I've downed it to a 7.

The Colton Arms, Barons Court

I really dont understand what the fuss is about with this place. Whoever runs it has missed out on ALOT of potential - if you take your eyes away from the furnishings and the bar, the building itself has a quaint country feel about it and you'd expect the rest to follow suit. In my opinion, the metal bar (urgh), and plastic backed benches (urgh urgh) just look tacky. I'll not be going back.

The Chancellors, Hammersmith

Having just returned from this place for a liquid lunch; A nice enough local pub, fairly well decorated with friendly staff.

It is however a fairly old geezers establishment. On walking in the whole back wall is a line up of old fellas enjoying their pints and gossiping about last nights bingo, and reminded me very much of a day out from the local retirement home.

When I was ordering a drink, there was one chap at the bar who was suprisingly young (teeth intact, able to stand up, could remember what happened yesterday..etc.etc) made the summation that it was "suprisingly busy in here today" - so a normal day apparently gets even less than the already sparse population.

To sum up - nice enough pub, the staff really are friendly and the decor is 'nice boozer on the corner'. I'll definatley return there when I retire.

The Atlas, West Brompton

Very nice pub, suprising as it's so close to Earls Court but it's not a run down rathole like so many other pubs in that area - it's a real little find, tucked away a bit but popular with those who know it.

The Chancery Bar & Kitchen, Fulham

I've never been here, but we've just bought a flat very close to this pub - it's currently shut down and being gutted/renovated, and I really hope it gets re-opened as good as it appears to have been before. *fingers crossed* as there aren't many good locals around that part of Fulham (see Wilton Arms, Frog & Forget me not...etc)

The Slug and Lettuce, Fulham

Nicknamed the "Slut and Legless" - Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are /extreemly/ busy, packed with aussies and saouth africans and loud music goes on all night. It's a fun place if you're out for a night of dancing (when you're not being squeezed either side by people) and generally larking about singing along to 80's and 90's ballads. Be warned though, you will not get a seat (on these nights) and you will not be able to have a conversation. Bascially a fun, busy meat market that you'll either love or hate.

The Mitre, Fulham

This pub used to be the ultimate chav dive of fulham, walked past there many a saturday night to see 2 old codgers at the bar fresh from the doll office and the bookies and not alot else whilst the rest of Fulham was heaving. It was shut down about 2 years ago, and they knocked ten bells out of the place - now it's re-opened it's a little gem, finally - a pub that undergoes conversion and actually comes out better than what it was! (as opposed to all the pretty nice boozers around SW6 that get 'renovated' and turned into poncey wine bars). Since it's revamp it's become alot more classier, but not what I'd call poncey or pretentous, and it still counts as a top boozer.

The crowd on a friday and saturday can be a bit "sloaney old boys rugby club wannabees" - but it's a nice pub, particularly after-work weekdays.

The Pelican, Fulham

Found this pub about 7 years ago when they used to lock the door on Chelsea nights, those days have gone but I've carried on drinking there about 8 nights a week since, truley good pub worth a visit

The Queens Head, Hammersmith

I don't understand the bad reviews - I think this is a wonderful pub, with excellent atmosphere and great food at good prices.

It's become our regular lunch pub now, and the gammon steak with chips and egg for 7 is well worth it, staff are also very friendly.

The George, Hammersmith

I walked into the pub once - it looks like a dive and it smelt of urine and stale beer - so I didn't stay and therefore can comment no more about it
