The Market Inn, Brighton

Nice old pub with the central bar but very average food and poor selection of ales with only 2 on at the time of our visit.

Brewery Tap, Abingdon

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and had an excellent lunch with a good selection of ales. Will be certain to return next time I'm here.

The Barnes Wallis Inn, Howden

Excellent pub with 4 well kept beers and great food. Make sure you are hungry as the portions are enormous. Well recommended.

The Dolphin, Whitby

Visited recently whilst on holiday one lunchtime. Five real ales on sale as well as a real cider.Had a good pint of Copper Dragon and nice crab sandwiches. Served by friendly staff and all in all was a very pleasent visit.

Ye Old Sparrow Hawk, Fence

Visited this pub before going on to the football. Staff were friendly and very accomodating for a group of football fans suddenly decending on them. Beer was good offering 5 real ales and food was excellant although slightly on the expensive side - 11.95 for fish and chips. However it was areally comfortable pub with well kept beer and whose staff were helpful to the point of giving us directions as to the best place to park for the match. If we are back up this way it is certainly a pub to which we shall return.

Queens Hotel, St Ives

Lacks atmosphere and selection of ales although Tribute wasn't a bad pint. Food not very good. Give it a miss.

The Union Inn, St Ives

Very similar in style to the castle next door. Lacks the selection of ales though with only Doom Bar available at the time. Food is good particularly sunday lunch.

Best real ale pub in St Ives. Six well kept beers with a real cider. Good atmosphere and good food. A must when down for a visit.

The Limes at Catisfield, Catisfield

Good old local pub serving top quality real ales. The summer lightning is out of this world. Definately the best real ale pub in the area.

The Castle in The Air, Fareham

Visited over xmas. How this pub got into the good pub guide, albeit the lucky dip section, is beyond me. Poor quality real ale served by miserable unfriendly staff. Happy xmas!

The Barrel of Beer, Beer

Limited selection of ales on my visit with 4 locally produced ales with nothing over 4%. Staff very attentive. Small selection of sandwiches for lunch made even smaller after running out of crab. Other meals available for lunch but not a pub for a light lunch.

The Anchor Inn, Beer

Great cliff top garden with good views over the harbour.Nice pint of Otter but other ales restricted to Greene King. Great crab sandwiches.

Masons Arms, Branscombe

Lovely comfortable old pub but more of an eating rather than drinking pub. Good well kept ales with good food which is not your tradtional pub grub and therefore slightly more expensive.

The Fountain Head, Branscombe

Visited this pub on several occasions whilst on holiday. Great tradtional old pub with well kept Branscombe ales and superb food. Friendly atmosphere
and not forgetting 2 traditional ciders straight from the barrel. This pub should be a the very top of anyone's places to visit. 10 out of 10.
