Kings Arms, Luxulyan

My wife and I went in for a meal and a drink before walking along the Luxulyan Valley last weekend. Excellent beer and food in a welcoming pub. Very friendly landlord and staff, a real delight to experience. This is everything a good local pub should be, providing good food and drink and serving the community. I just wish it was closer to home!

The Coombe Abbey Inn, Coventry

I was also a regular in the Coombe Abbey 35 years ago and have very fond memories of Tom the Landlord and the excellent Bass. A more recent visit of a few years past going down memory lane confirmed no real ale. A great little pub in its time - what a shame.

Red Lion, Martlesham

I had a meal with family and friends on lunchtime September 25th. The experience was just the same as Chirple's. very good, friendly and efficient service, good food and a good pint of Adnams beer. A very enjoyable lunch.

The Smugglers Inn, Minehead

More a restaurant than a pub now, but with very good food and a wide ranging menu. Nice garden and friendly atmosphere. Good draft beer - Otter and Smggled Otter, and some nice wines. Only criticism is that the menu doesn't vary and there are no specials posted. If you use it a fair bit it can become a bit repetitive but this is a small point as there is a good variety in the menu.
If you are in the pub later in the evening it helps if you like Rotweilers as the landlord lets them out then, but they are very friendly! Highly recommended.

Punchbowl & Ladle, Feock

I had a very pleasant lunch here with my family. Very good food, good beer and an interesting menu. The landlord and staff were smiling and friendly and the beer range and quality was good. A good experience - highly recommended.

Angarrack Inn, Angarrack

What a disappointment. A year or so back we had a great night in this pub; good beer, a friendly and entertaining landlord, an interesting menu and really good food and a good local feel to this village pub. The meal I have just had was about the worst I have had in Cornwall. Vegetables straight from the tin or freezer, instant mash, even the lemon slice on the trout was spoiled by having gone through the microwave before serving, and a rather dull menu. It was embarrassing for us with our German guests to subject them to this. The beer is still reasonable and the pub has a community feel but the food side is worse than poor.
