The Fox and Hounds, Ramsden Heath

Not been here for years but called in Saturday for a pint whilst out walking from Rayleigh to Billericay. It will be years before we visit again, Abbott poorly kept, tasted like it had been in the barrel since we last called in. To be fair it looked like the locals were lager drinkers and they seemed happy enough with their umpteen choices and surroundings

Kings Arms, Offham

called in for a pint on our 12 mile Saturday walk . The pub was undergoing refurbishment so did not look its best, the Harvey's was however well kept and equally well enjoyed before moving on.
Very few locals around despite it being lunchtime

Railway Tavern, Longfield

Paid a visit here whilst on our way back to Southfleet on an 11 mile walk. Both bar staff and locals were very friendly and the beer was well kept. Really wanted to stay for a second pint but needed to push on to finish the walk and drive back to Essex

The Staghunters Inn, Lynton

11 May 2017
Called in on a 15 mile circular walk from Lynton using the South West Coastal Path then inland st Cosgate Hill dropping down to Leeford. This was supposed to be a quick stop but the Exmoor Stag was so well kept and drawn from the cask that we had to have another before reluctantly going on our way. The landlord was first class just what you would expect in this type of location but seldom meet

The King William IV, Mickleham

Enjoyed a well kept pint of TEA from Hogs Back Brewery with my fellow walkers today and it seems the landlord might be offering an incentive next month to card carrying walkers. Whether this will be CAMRA or Ramblers cards remains to be seen.
Excellent service from the landlord and his young, very polite staff. Other customers looked to be appreciating the food as well.

Plough, Borough Green

I've past this place a few times when out with my walking group but not stopped. Today was different, we'd decided to give The Kentish Rifleman a miss as we were a little too early to drop in at Dunk's Green, so The Plough was our target for the day and we were not disappointed. The service was quick and friendly, the Tribute was excellent and the WiFi and Arsenal v Man City a real bonus. Visited 13/9/14

The John Barleycorn, Threshers Bush

Called here on an 11 mile muddy walk and was sorely tempted to stay for the afternoon after drinking a beautifully kept pint of Speckled Hen and lulled by the roaring log fire. Will return to sample the tempting menu at a later date - minus the boots!
