The Gallows, Birmingham

CLOSED - Was heavily damaged by fire/smoke/water when Edwards No8 (the adjoining club) burnt down

The Actress and Bishop, Birmingham

Nice pub, good music and bands on all week. Beer is average price, but quite cheap when you consider the other pubs around the corner. Young indie/rock crowd with a DJ at weekends. Nice outside terrace in the summer

All Bar One, Birmingham

Great beer range but is more likened to a library than a bar. Very little atmosphere and quite expensive.

The Corner House, Birmingham

Nice little pub but not a place to stay all night. Quick and friendly service, beer prices average for town. Shows football games and has live acoustic music at the weekend. Worth stopping by for one or two

The Briar Rose, Birmingham

Not sure on the decor but its definatley one of the better wetherspoons. Normally get a younger indie crowd on a weekend compared to square peg etc. Crazy beer prices and no smoking too.

The Lost and Found, Birmingham

Nice bar but a bit dull. Not really any atmosphere to speak of. Large place with ok beer selection though quite pricey.

Windsor, Birmingham

Good city centre pub, not too dissimilar from a wetherspoons but a bit classier. Good selection of drinks and average prices. Couple of plasma screens and background music

The Trocadero, Birmingham

A nice 'proper' city centre pub. Friendly but varied crowd at the weekend, good music from the jukebox and normally football or boxing on the tv. Drink prices are very good for city centre. Apparently haunted too

The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham

Nice bar but completley full of posers trying to out-do each other in indie-ness. Good range of alternative draught beers though.

The Spotted Dog, Digbeth

Really friendly family run pub with good choice of beers. Great staff and nice beer garden which can be hired for parties etc.

Adam and Eve, Digbeth

Great pub with long opening hours. Bands on every weekend for free, beer prices are ok. Very lively and friendly atmosphere

The Merchant Stores, Birmingham

This pub has changed names more times than i care to remember. Now trading as a dance music bar called Congress

Scruffy Duffys, Birmingham

Closed - now a dance music bar called congress. Shame really.

Bar Risa, Birmingham

As places on broad st though, this bar isn't too bad. I'll be the first to admit that broad st really isn't my cup of tea, but this place at least tries to cater for everyone. Plenty of rooms to choose from with varied music. Drinks a tad pricy but quite a good selection. Dress code fairly relaxed too

The Sports Cafe, Birmingham

Unless you like football or rugby forget it. The website promises a vast array of sports from around the world...in reality if theres no football on, you get sky sports news and bad dance music. Don't expect anything on a friday/saturday night as it becomes a club and forgets its sporting roots. Good (though expensive) pool room downstairs and nice memoribilia

Waxy O'Connors, Birmingham

A nice escape from the rest of broad st. Although the music is the same as other bars, it doesn't have the meat market feel the rest of broad st does, and there's free entry and resaonable drink prices too. Not a place to spend the whole evening, but well worth stopping for a drink or two.
