The Bear and Ragged Staff, Bransford

Like GuidoMerry this has become a regular Sunday lunch pub at least once amontillado. It doesn't seem to have changed since earlier views. The landlord and his staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food is excellent, the beef especially so. Well kept Doom Bar and Twisted Spire usually on offer. Child friendly. Well recommended.

The Whittington Inn, Whittington

Have now given up on this pub as the last couple of times I visited it was severely understaffed and what staff there was, was very mediocre. Pity because as cozzer remarks it does have potential.

The Fox Inn, Bransford

Have only visited this pub at lunch times which I do regularly. The food is generally good to excellent by pub standards. The beers are Abbot and two Hobsons and a guest. Indeed the staff here are first rate, friendly, helpful and universally cheerful without being OTT. The decor and furnishings are very restrained and comfortable. There is a large car-park and outside seating. It is also a very clean pub as at least once a year it undergoes almost total immersion from the nearby river Teme at flood time.

The Kings Head, Llandudno

Great pub, possibly best pint of Abbot in the northern hemisphere. Friendly.

The Fishermans Haunt, Christchurch

I've always liked this pub I find the atmosphere very pleasant and have done so under a number of managers. There is a variety of quite reasonable food but nothing to prevent you just sinking a few if you so wish. Yes, the 49er is very good but I find the ESB extremely acceptable. And if you have a well-behaved dog they don't object.

House In The Tree, Staverton

I go regularly once a month to this pub for Sunday lunch so can only comment on it for that time, when I have found it absolutely first rate. Considering that it is extremely busy and seems to be very popular the service is very good and the carvery serves as good a traditional roast as you could wish if that is to your taste. It is almost essential to book. (The beer is good as well).

The Antelope, Poole

Very good pint of Abbot. Food good too. So is the staff. Good choice for lunch when on holiday.

The Whittington Inn, Whittington

This is a pub I only visit once a month for Sunday lunch (after the local book fair). At one time I stopped going as the food was poor and the beer not an attraction and the landperson not the most genial of hostpeople. However some time ago it had a management change and things have looked up. The food is acceptable, the guest beers usually pretty good and the service friendly if not always super efficient. And the building has charm. Well worth a visit.
