Shut at the moment.

The Old Red Lion, Houghton Regis

Not a pub really. More for eating via carvery. Used to be a great local back in the day.

Dog and Duck, Houghton Regis

Shut for a while now. Another block of flats or indian restaurant more likely?

The Halfway House, Dunstable

Not bad for this type of place. Avoid on Friday as most of the mouthy company van fraternity use this as a last stop before avoiding the police breath tests on the way home.

The Sailor Boy, Hitchin

Sad to hear this is closing down? I had some good times there back in the late 80's and 90's when I worked in Hitchin. :(

Charlie Brown's, Luton

I believe Charlie Brown's is now closed and up for sale ...very sad as I used to work their from time to time and visit the club on the odd night out. The flats built above/around the club caused the demise of this iconic nightclub. I personally feel these should never been allowed to be built so close to the club by the local council...who says money does not talk...shame on the council.

Chequers, Houghton Regis

Food is o.k for the money, the beer is a bit pricey, staff seem nice. Not a bad place overall.

Ewe and Lamb, Dunstable

I agree with Wright66 if he's on about the public bar.

The Harvest Home, Houghton Regis

Popped in a few times over the last few months and had no probs. Landlord/landlady and the locals seem friendly. Seems to have settled in and attracts an older local crowd.

The Saracens Head, Dunstable

Popped in one afternoon..could not relax as a bunch of load mouthed "Chavs" sitting around the bar. Shame as the pub looks the part from the outside but the days of it being the "in pub" are far gone.

The Plume Of Feathers, Markyate

Nice relaxed and friendly local pub

The Gary Cooper, Dunstable

Plenty of real ales, Prices good, food as you would expect, just one prob...it's a ten mile hike to the upstairs toilets

Carpenters Arms, Dunstable

Used to be quite a buzzing pub many years ago when Haydon and Peter used to run it. Last time I frequented this pub it was full of commuters who have now taken over the village boasting about their latest 4+4...oh dear!

The First and Last, Dunstable

Crown, Houghton Regis

I remember this one in the 80's when I moved over this way..used to have a collection of plates stuck all over the place and a fireplace you could almost sit in lol. Not a bad place for quite pint afternoons. Good luck to em

The Priory, Dunstable

R.I.P The priory Dunstable another pub closed and about to re-developed into flats.

12 Nov 2009 08:19

Norman King, Dunstable

Nice landlord who trys, prices a tad high, always the same 2 alcholics propping up the bar and putting off any new trade by their ignorance and "what you doing in my pub" senario..the pub should re-named to "the moon" as there's no atmosphere..shame I remember it in the 80's/90's when it had a real buzz about it. Whatch the car park as it's one of these clamp you quick ones if you dont have a card to put on the dash.

12 Nov 2009 08:13

The Globe, Dunstable

If your a real ale bod then this is the place to visit. Bit of a clique punter wise but well worth a try.

The Gardener's Call, Luton

Not a bad pub. Have only visited late afternoons but seems quite friendly.

17 Mar 2008 09:15

Ewe and Lamb, Dunstable

Not bad at all..lagers, Green King real ales, busy larger main bit for food and a second bar for pool, music, frequented by the (friendly) local building fraternity and local peeps...oh and a dodgy welshman!
