Henry Addington, Canary Wharf

There are basically 2 ways of looking at this place.
Compared to other drinking establishments in canary wharf its actually ok but compared to everywhere else its pretty average.
At least they have a good range of beer - last night they had pride, doombar, and tribute as well as 5 guest 'christmas ales', pilsner urquell on draft and a couple of other continental lagers.
like i said, a good option in canary wharf but unspectacular overall.

The Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park

a really decent pub.
looks impressive from the outside with ivy covering the front.
has a main bar area and and a large sports room (the 'sin bin').
most impressive of all is the beer garden out the back where they've made the most out of the space they have by building a giant multi-levelled wooden decked structure. has to be seen to be believed!
lack of real ale options but decent thai food.
great place to watch sport.

The Devonshire Arms, Marylebone

Popped in last night, pretty small place but nice decor with framed portraits dotted around.
Reasonably busy but got served quickly.
Toilet stank a bit but overall a reasonable destination if your in the area.

The Pontefract Castle, Marylebone

Always seem to end up in here when in the Oxford Street area, a decent option to escape the crowds of Oxford Street (especially in the run up to Christmas).
London Pride, Doombar and 2 or 3 others on tap.
I went for a few glasses of the mulled wine, or mulled cider as the barman advised, which was decent.
Nice downstairs area although limited for space
Have not tried the food here yet.

The Jolly Farmer, Cookham Dean

Popped in here for a few pints in the summer before a weddding over the road.
Lovely massive beer garden makes this a decent destination in the summer.

The Rake, London Bridge

definately one of my favourite places to drink in London at the moment.
had a superb pint of Kaiserdom Pilsner here the other week.
staff were friendly and knowledable and although its quite a small place I had no issue with standing outside to drink.

The Birdcage, Bethnal Green

went here for the first time on Friday night.
they must be doing something right as it was insanely busy - difficult to move at one point.
it was karaoke night. and the majority of the singing was dire although what do expect at 9pm on a Friday night?
would like to go back when quieter to gain a better idea of the place.
