The refurb has made this a much more pleasant environment. We went in on a Tuesday lunchtime - fairly busy but good service and they offer an "express" menu for those in a rush. Beers (Adnams and a couple of others) were well kept.
Food was disappointing - a limited menu and focus too much on style rather than substance.
Still it is light years better than its previous incarnation.

Good food (and lots of it - so make sure you arrive hungry!) some well kept ales and very friendly staff. Definitely the destination of choice when compared with some of the nearby competition.

Great pub serving excellent and well priced food. Good wine list.

The Three Horseshoes, Batcombe
Nice beer and well presented food but strangely quiet and antiseptic for what should be a quintessential English pub.
