Used to go here when a student living in halls and proved an excellent local. Not sure what it's like since the overhaul but have been told by a reliable source that the food is excellent. Doesn't sound as if the prices have changed much though.

Total gem of a pub. In fact thinking of The Brickworks brings a tear to my eye now I've moved out of Oxford.

The Charles Bradlaugh, Northampton
This pub is neither classy nor friendly. You also seem to either have to know the bar staff or have a trendy mullet hair cut to get a drink. The only redeeming feature is the late licence.

The Commercial, Herne Hill
Becomes a bit of a creche on Sundays - beware of stepping on babies, and can be rather overpriced but good choice of drinks and fair food make it worth a visit.
