Black Horse, North Greenford

I have been cominhg here on and off for 8 years as I live locally. The food is of variable quality depending on the chef (there seems to be a high turnover of pub managers and kitchen staff). The portions used to be bigger - and always used to include fabulous slabs of bread that you cut at your table (with every order). The decor getting a bit tired and shabby from the refit 7 or so years ago now.

However the beer is always good and there is a choice of bars, the terrace or beer garden.

The Anglesea Arms, Hammersmith

Fantastic dining pub. Small menu but wonderfully cooked and presented. For two people, three courses plus a bottle of wine was 60. Beer is expensive granted, but think of it as a restaurant, not a pub and you're quids in. The bar area is scruffy / bohemian depending on your view. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful in assiting in our choice of wine. Have already recommended it to friends.
