The Rayleigh Arms, Terling

Good news the pub re-opened on Tuesday 11th September 2012,
Although it is now named the Terling Inn.
The Rayleigh coat of arms is still displayed on the front of the pub.
The pub was closed for many months and put up for sale.
The villagers fought hard to save the pub from permanent closure and the threat of possible re-development.

Beer range is limited to GK IPA and GK Old Golden Hen at the moment.

The King William IV, Braintree

Some really good news regarding the King William IV.
Closed for over two years it now has been sold,
The new owner has started renovating the pub.
So hopefully it will not be too long before it re-opens.

Lewes Arms, Lewes

Currently surrounded by scaffolding whilst the outside is being done up,
But do not let this put you off entering this lovely traditional side street pub.
Comprising of a small front bar,A rear bar with tables for dining,And a dining/games room to the side where there are more tables,This room contains a dartboard,And located underneath the dartboard is a toad in the hole game,Which is a traditional Sussex pastime.
There are five handpumps which when we visited were serving Harvey's Sussex Best on two pumps,Fuller's London Pride,Fuller's/Gales HSB,And Fuller's Seafarers Ale on the other three pumps,
The beer's that we tried were all excellent.

The Compasses, Littley Green

The Compasses recently won the Chelmsford&Mid Essex Camra's award for the most improved pub in their area.
The real ales on offer can vary but usually on are an Adnams beer,One from Mighty Oak,and a ever changing third beer usually from another Essex brewery,A real Cider and Perry are also usually available.

The Compasses, Littley Green

The pub is now a genuine free house after GK sold it,
A real unspoilt gem of a pub.
3 or 4 very good quality real ales,
Which are still served by gravity from the cellar.
And it still serves those LARGE HUFFERS!.
Its well worth the effort trying to find this pub.
