Babel, Clapham Junction

Awful refurb - place is even more soulless that it was - and that's saying something. Looks like a second-hand lampshade shop and what is going on with the 'fisher price' chairs outside, I don't know.

Same old drinks, with bland food and hit and miss service.

In summary, it's like an ugly girl who's had a bad facelift...

B@1 (Be At One), Battersea

Carnage on tap - not a place ofr a first date - more the place to get totally thrashed on any given night!
Cocktails aren't the best but happy hour is great value!

All Bar One, Battersea

Thanks, Stonch - for disagreeing then going on to make my point for me...

Yes, it's a chain but it is trying to stock some interesting beers... unlike the Fine Line opposite which is as predictably dull as you might expect..

Tiger Tiger, Piccadilly Circus

Albert (review below), i'm with you on this one!

The proverbial meat market. Pikey secretaries and men in shiny suits. Thank god they all have a place to congregate...

All Bar One, Battersea

For a boring, soulless chain bar is actually ok. Decent enough food and ok if you're with a group and making your own entertainment.

Perfunctory service in general - no real personality, other than Harry one of the managers who i met here a few weeks ago.

The Holy Drinker, Battersea

Decent beers, chilled atmosphere make this a pretty good place. Could do with an update though - it's beginning to get stale.

The Fine Line, Clapham Junction

how many times have you heard anyone tell how they had an amazing night in "The Fine Line"?

Exactly.

Soulless, bland, predictable, but ok for a quick lunch and friendly enough service.

I do not understand why anyone would spend their valuable time here... you only get one chance at life - do you really want to waste it here?

Babel, Clapham Junction

proxy is obviously employed by babel's owners - i've seen a similar review for one of their other pubs on here - pathetic!

Babel is very average - nothing really to make you want to come here - bland decor, no real atmosphere, crappy cocktails made by ill-trained bar tenders, ok range of bottled beers and a menu of forzen foods.

Why bother? Iniquity across the road has better drinks and is more fun

The Goat, Battersea

Absolutely appaling decor - I wouldn't like to see the homes of anyone who thinks this place looks good! Typically big chain pub company effort to look 'funky' - ends up looking ridiculous. Bamboo and retro wall paper in a pub called The Goat???????

That said, it is an improvement on O'Neills and stocks some good beers. Food was mediocre when i was there but i didn't have high expectations!

The Northcote, Clapham Junction

This place is in such a good location it should bea goldmine. Instead it's just crap. Dingy decor, crap food and no reason to visit unless it's the only place showing the footy...

Great place for a party - fun staff, air guitar anthems and a great vibe. So the decor leaves a bit to be desired, but you're not there for the design!

More authentic and fun than the bland bar next door

Iniquity, Battersea

Like this place for midweek drinks when the atmosphere is lively but not manic and the music is a more chilled mix of funk and soul. Gets packed at the weekend but what decent bar doesn't?

The floor staff are great and the drinks good quality.
