The Snowdrop, Lindfield

Typical!
At last i find a lovely pub with great beer, super food, excellent staff and a an interior that just screams " have another pint"...and its shut!
Bo bleeding hoo.
An utter tragedy.

Bar Nun, Syresham Gardens

Before it closed I went here twice.....both times I wondered why. Whilst I never like to see a business fail I cannot express any surprise that this place failed....yes the beer was okay, but to be greeted by a waft of stale wee from the gents as you walk in is never going to endear a place of food/drink consumption.
The people seemed to be afraid of each other- all sitting in their respective corners wearing macs (overcoats not computers), some with a wheezing dog on a piece of string.
Bleugh.

The Heath, Haywards Heath

Don't bother coming here if you want to meet new people......beer is good though. It also helps if you quite like smoking as the smokers outside seem to manage to get their smell to mix ith that of the urinals. Mmmmm- nice!

The Star, Haywards Heath

I agree wholeheartedly with 'thehiddenone'...on my first visit I came in through the open front door and was promptly yelled at to "shut the f**king door" behind me.
The beer is good, but why bother when the 'locals' are such lovely people?

The Burrell Arms, Haywards Heath

Typical pub by a busy railway station....my impression is that this could be a good place to buy something (anything) illegal...a pit-bull, some class-As......fellow clientele appear almost caricature "locals"...cold-shoulders galore!
Beer is so-so, unexceptionable more than anything.
Its the kind of pub that the brewery could spend a few hundred thousand on, but that would be a complete waste of money as it would very soon revert to its "own comfortable colour".

Orange Square, Haywards Heath

Well technically this is more of a bar than a pub....but as far as Haywards Heath is concerned its pretty much the only game in town, unless you want a fight (with or without dogs) , want to be gratuitously insulted or completely ignored.
Which is what I've had in every single other pub in this town..I'm a newcomer, you see.."Not from round here..."
The decor is starting to look a bit tired, too many TV screens, food is good- always go for the specials- the beer is well kept, as it ought to be at these prices.
The staff are smartly turned-out, pleasant and polite.
THe clientele are kind of the oldest swingers in town with more emphasis on the age than the swinging......
This is rather like a hotel bar that has regulars.....
