The Anchor, Southwark

I watched a bar maid pour the drip tray into a pint glass (almost two thirds) top it up from the pump then serve it to a punter round the corner who didn't see what she did. I'm ashamed that I didn't say anything. This place is a joke.

Rutland Arms, Hammersmith

The worst service I have ever had in a pub. What terrible lazy managment this pub has. I arrived at 930pm to an almost empty bar and a few drinkers outside by the river. I was served straight away and asked for a pint of Adnam's Bitter in a real glass as I could see that they were serving in plastic. I wrongly assumed this was for people drinking outside and I explained that I would be drinking inside. I was told that they don't serve beer in glasses because it's too much effort to collect and wash them!!! I thought they were joking. They call themselves an Ale House but they obviously take no care in what they serve. I can only assume that lazy attitude is applied to everything else they do. Don't waste your money in here. Go next door or further along the river. There are nicer places that deserve our custom.

The Warrington Hotel, Maida Vale

Well, 3pound 20 for a pint of London Pride says it all. Over priced average fare. Ramsey has a great oportunity to give us some great beer but it's the same old Pride, Greene King IPA, Adnams, Peroni, Kronenburg and oh my God is Ramsey a total idiot, Fosters! How can you take him seriously when he serves the beer equivalent of a big mac in his pub. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for good quality but the Warrington fails to deliver. Don't bother making a special effort to visit.

The Wheatsheaf, Fitzrovia

Nice enough pub, friendly staff who were cheerful to be serving on a very busy Friday night. Good enought Adnams bitter, along with Bombardier and Pride. Not a pub to seek out but pretty good if you're in the area.

The Rake, London Bridge

Market Porter or the Rake? Are you kidding me? The Market Porter every single time. The Rake is fine but how much effort does it take to fill a fridge with beer and buy a few branded glasses compared with the row of hand pumps of well kept beer at the Porter? Plus the place smells really bad, the staff weren't rude but they didn't seem pleased to serve us. It's also pretty expensive. In future I'd buy a couple of bottles from Utobeer, have a couple of pints in the Porter and give the Rake a miss.

The Porchester, Royal Oak

This pub is OK, the beer is fine. Who thought it was a good idea to have colouring in competitions?

The Daniel Gooch, Bayswater

This is a pretty nice pub (if you're not a snob) Watched the football in a freindly atmosphere and the beer (London Pride) was fine. It's not as posh as the Porchester up the road but much better value.

Queen Victoria, Theydon Bois

Very nice, friendly and cosy pub. The beer was lovely and the staff very very polite. The food was pretty good if you remember you're in a pub.

Ye Olde Swiss Cottage, Swiss Cottage

Horrid, simply horrid. The place smelt like a urinal. I worked in a bar and my landlord told me that I should only ever touch the bottom third of a glass. Stay well away from the bit that touches the punters lips. The guy that served my pint held it so near the rim he got head on his fingers. The beer was sour and undrinkable. I knew it wasn't the sort of place you even bother to complain so I went to watch a terrible Tom Criuse film next door cursing under my breath. There are loads of lovely Sam Smith pubs in London, this ain't one of them.

Ordnance Arms, St John's Wood

Went to the Ordnance on Sunday for lunch and it was pretty good. The food was good value and there are interesting beers available once you get past the disappointment of no hand pulled real ale. I've been a couple of times now and the bar staff were nice and friendly.
