The Keans Head, Nottingham

Great no smoke policy.

Food is OK, beer is good but expensive.

The bad bit - too crowded and hot in even slightly warm weather. Considering it was refurbished recently, they could have put in air-con. Typical Tynemill group to skimp on detail and not consider the customer.

The Plough Inn, Radford

EXCELLENT BEER !

The best in Nottingham by far.Friendly staff and good ambiance.

Toilet does let it down though.

The Lincolnshire Poacher, Nottingham

VERY POOR The Poacher is well past its sell by date and it shows. The conservatory is filthy at height - put a beer mat over your pint. Toilets getting tatty,
beer is expensive and quite often poor. Tynemill, the owners, are complacent and are just milking the customers, relying on past glories to keep sales going.

Food was good once, but now indifferent and expensive.

Need a wake up call.

Hotel Deux, Sherwood Rise

Hotel Deux has potential, yes, but it is trying to please too many people at once.Food, real ale, music, etc. Needs to specialise.

The dog is very smelly and does put a lot diners off as it allowed too near the restaurant - and the front lawn is it's toilet - Pooh!

The Sherwood Manor, Sherwood

One of the worst pubs locally. Clouds of thick smoke to ruin any meal - which is horrible stodge anyway.

Beer is barely passable and the young staff are not interested - may be if I drank Carling !

Do not bother as you will be dissapointed.

The Chestnut Tree, Sherwood

Just about bearable, or should I say beerable. Some OK beers on hand pump, too much smoke though and a tendency for the local kids to get served here - get drunk and get noisy.

By far the best pub in Sherwood, although Sherwood is awful for pubs as a whole.

The Robin Hood, Sherwood

The Robin has gone from bad to worse, no drinkable beers at all - best avoided. Shame really as it was OK in the past till it became Barras!

The Quorn, Nottingham

Oh dear ! What a place. My nearest pub but it is truly awful.Very poor beer, smoked like a kipper, no ambience.Nothing to recommend here.

The Lion, New Basford

Music is OK at night if it is your fancy, but too loud with no escape. Beer is fine BUT the pumps run out very frequently with no replacements - really VERY POOR - no excuse for this just poor staff and management.

The Horse and Jockey, Old Basford

Been a couple of times, but found the ambience a bit like a Harvester!(Yuk) Beer was very average.

The Fox and Crown, Basford

Complacency has set in at the Fox and Crown. The beers used to be good but now all have a common peculiar flavour a bit like straw in fact. Not just a one off unfortunately. Prices are creeping up aswell.

The Horse and Groom, New Basford

Sad to report that the last few visits to the Horse and Groom have been very dissapointing. They are not stocking many light beers, in fact too many dark beers. Had to move on after 1 pint to the Plough at Radford.

The Horse and Groom, New Basford

Excellent ales all very well kept, and got top marks from casque marque.Good mature adult clientele and good back room for music and beer festivals!Guests -Absolution,Pale Rider and Hartington IPA - my top 3!
2 minus points . Can be a bit smokey and gets too warm, but the beer makes up for it.
Highly recommended - best ale in Notingham !
