If you just want a beer forget this place,the history with dickens is not in keeping, its more of a restaurant with drinkers treated as an irritation

The Hand and Shears, Barbican

this was the fifth pub we visited on a crawl and by far the best. the beer kept nicely plenty of history and atmosphere

What could be a great pub has bowed down to the tourist trap. no bitter on offer at all which is terrible. We left
