The Kilvert's Hotel, Hay on Wye

Seems popular with both locals and tourists.

Good beer. 5 handpumps. Ale both local and national. Interesting pairing of beer and food.

The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow

Good beers, especially enjoyed the Hobsons Old Prickly, a surprising gem. Friendly staff, comfortable bar/lounge (great open fire!). Definitely will call again. Worth a visit.

The Church Inn, Ludlow

Great selection of beers, enjoyed the Ludlow Gold. Interesting "mix" of clientele, but have to agree, service is a little lacking. Should be included in a visit.

The Marches, Ludlow

Good well kept beer, and service. Not so sure about bland surroundings, but live music was a nice surprise.

The Queens, Ludlow

Decent pint of Butty Bach, but found the Queens a little lacking in atmosphere, not helped by surly bar staff who seem to find communication an optional extra. That said, worth a visit if just for good beer.

The Lichfield Vaults, Hereford

Excellent pint of well kept Adnams Broadside. Good service, well worth a visit!

The Dukes Head, Leominster

Typical Wetherspoons, but reasonable beer at good prices, but service again not great. Worth a look, if your not in a rush.

The Grape Vaults, Leominster

Decent enough pub, with a reasonable selection of ale, mostly kept well. Sadly, I have to agree with others, service is patchy at times.
