Great Wetherspoons! Standard food but great beers. Another Non-Pretentious bar in a very pretentious area!

I dont know why John_thomas is complaining about this bar! This is one of the best bars in Highate and also the least pretentious! I have drank there on numerous occasions and have always found the bar staff to be pleasant and hospitable.
The food is good, not great, just good but then again is doesn't imply itself to be a restaurant.

My girlfriend and myself visited this pub last night and while being a really nice bar (decoratively) the staff are somewhat to be desired, There was a man and lady serving behind the bar. The guy was ignorant and basically just grunted when you spoke to him. The girl was completely clueless.
The barman needs to get his head of his backside. It is called the hospitality industry after all..
Overall - we wont be back!

Beer - Excellent
Decor - Excellent
Beer Garden - Excellent
Toilets - Excellent
Staff - atrocious attitude! They really let this bar down a bag full! I avoid it now when I can which is sad because I really like it! Working in the hospitality industry requires you to be warm, welcoming and HOSPITABLE and they are none of these.
The manager can whine all he wants about trying to run a pub in hard times - they will be harder if his staff don't buck themselves up a bit
