Wheatsheaf, Southwark

I love this pub and have been many times. There has always been a slight odour but tonight it was absolutely awful and my mate and I had to leave before we even ordered. We ended up going to the new (old) wheatsheaf which has reopened in the market. Landlord, please sort the smell..

The Kings Arms, Waterloo

I like this pub and have been many times before. However I went with a friend on Sat 19 Nov in the evening and was somewhat shocked to see the state of all the tables in the bar area. We had to clean ours up and move all the dirty glasses from previous drinkers to the bar; I noticed about 4 other groups having to do the same when they arrived. During the hour we were there I did not see a member of staff picking up glasses...disappointing.

The Holly Bush, Hampstead

Nipped in for a pint on Sunday lunchtime when passing through the area. Seemed to be a great pub with a good atmosphere...good pint of Pride and top food.

Woodins Shades, Liverpool Street

Went for a quick drink with a friend last night. Terrible service, stinking toilets and the beer was awful. I had bitter and my friend got served warm Stella..neither of us could finsh them. Wandered along to the superior Water Poet instead.

The Ship, Soho

Superb pub...been there 4 -5 times in last 2 weeks. It plays great, loud music - that's one of the characteristics I love...and is different than the usual sterile pubs. One comment though...please fix the round table by the door....much spilt drink !...

The Blackfriar, Blackfriars

Ok Pub. Visited 4 times on a recent trip from Australia. Good beer, amazing building but car be very slow to get served. I also find it always smells a bit inside. The 6X went down very nicely though.

The Ship, Soho

Great pub. Visited 3 times on a recent trip from Australia. Love the music and the general atmosphere. Good news that the toilets are getting sorted too. Was really impressed when I was in there on the evening of Sat 21 March to see the barman refuse to serve someone who was clearly slaughtered. Despite the hassle he got, the barman stuck to his guns and dealt with it brilliantly.

Looking forward to my next visit in June

The Devonshire Arms, Camden

Visted on a recent trip from Sydney. Great music if you like loud heavy rock. Toilets were disgusting but that is usually expected (World's End was far worse). Staff were friendly and the beer (bottled Hobgoblin ) was great. Had a sore head the next day...not sure if is was the music or the beer....

Ben Crouch's Tavern, Fitzrovia

Great pub. Visited 3 times on a recent trip to London from Australia. Good beer, good music, good food, and a good quirky feel.

The Sea Horse, Mansion House

Visited again on a recent long trip to London. John and his team have created a very welcoming pub. A great selection of beers and good food available.

Love this pub --- just been over for 6 week jaunt from Australia where I am currently living ( no good pubs there). Always a great atmosphere and the beers are great. It is the music that makes it special for me.....really adds to the atmosphere.

The Railway Tavern, Liverpool Street

Nipped in for a swift couple a couple of Sunday evenings back on way back from Norwich to London. Never really like the look of it from outside, having walked by on multiple occasions, but it was really good inside. Spanish football on TV and a mixed crowd in....not City types with it being a Sunday. Seemed to be a mixture of locals and people to/from the station. The staff were friendly and the Abbot Ale went down a treat.

The Harp, Covent Garden

Just had a 6 week jaunt to the UK from Australia (where I am currently living). Visited the Harp 7 times in that time and every trip was great. One of the best pubs there is...I only discovered it by chance last year on another trip. Will be back in Feb!

The Sea Horse, Mansion House

Just had a 6 week trip to the UK from Australia (where I currently am living). John, the landlord, and his team are doing a great job with the pub. It is generally packed in the evenings and there is a good atmosphere. It is extremely friendly which has made a massive difference compared to what it used to be like. Well worth a visit.

The Ship, Soho

Great pub--- different in that it's much more of a music pub. Great if you like loud atmosphere and music.

The Harp, Covent Garden

What a fantastic pub! A great selection of ales and a really good friendly atmosphere.

No TV, no music, good service, not a restaurant, a great location and a great beer.

superb all round

Hobgoblin is now on tap along with Harveys. Place is going from strength to strength.

The Sea Horse, Mansion House

Have recommended to the landlord that he gets Wychwood Hobgoblin as his extra bitter...he's looking into it.

The Pillars of Hercules, Soho

what a disappointment. Took 2 friends from Australia a couple of Mondays ago in the evening. It was deserted with no atmosphere. There were some renovations underway and the place stank...there was one shared toilet between males and females with no lock on the door. After the smell, the beer tasted awful. Left after 20 mins...embarrassing.

Pub has been transformed since Grim Jim left. The new owners have done a refurb which is a good to see but more than anything else they have done 2 things right: 1. Got Peroni on tap which seems to go down a treat with the customers and 2. Smiled when you approach the bar.

All that is missing now is a better range of bitters. Harveys is the only option at present but he has a spare spot and we are working on him to get another one.

Judging by the crowds I have seen there recently, this place is well on the way to being turned around.
