Red Lion Hotel, Cosham

went here expecting the worst as its in cosham! but was surprised. They had some decent real ales and a big 2 meals for 1 menu. Really cheap food but still better quality than a lot of pubs. Bar staff were friendly too. Needs more entertainment at night though. will bring my kids next time as they have a kids menu.

Brasshouse, Bournemouth

A bit hit and miss with the staff. some of them dont have a clue but seem nice enough. food was good. I like the menu. cheap beer, cheap beer, cheap beer. Lots of chavs and students, the place is so big you can ignor them though. watched a fight in here the other day.. the doormen made it worse! How the mighty have fallen.. when this place opened it was over 21's and rammed - 1200 people every weekend. Now its a confused grubby pub with the same tiolet that hasnt been decorated or repaired in 10 years!!... but... cheap - beer i had a laff...

The Litten Tree, Bournemouth

food was ok but not great, beer wasnt that good but passable, the music... i agree with preveous kylie comment, it did my head in. The doorstaff seemed like a reasonable bunch, though could have been polite when spoken too (ignorant "***" just grunted & looked away!). service was a little slow....but ok. amazing atmosphere on football days. not my kind of place really, i regret spending my cash here but will go if friends are going....

The Moon in the Square, Bournemouth

cheap beer, cheep food, food was well cooked and hot but very basic. Doorstaff and managers seem profesional. No too many scummers like a lot of wetherspoon pubs have. cheep beer!!!

The Sir Percy Florence Shelley, Boscombe

The steak was overcooked and didnt taste right. the same steak came back cooked even more! the onion rings made me feel sick. DO NOT EAT HERE, That may be unfare but they couldnt even fix the food when i told them what was wrong with it! My god the beer is cheep though. I stayed for about 4 hours and got very drunk. Dont go in here if you cant look after yourself its full of boscombe scummers! The staff are friendly and seem capable on the bar side of things.

The Spyglass and Kettle, Southbourne

I went to this pub on friday night with a mate and my family. There were several parties and the pub was full. At the bar there was a party of people celabrating one of the managers being there for 10 years. It was richard as mentioned in preveous reviews. What a grate place, everyone - especially the staff were really friendly and made us all feel welcome. I couldnt believe a pub in sleepy southbourne could be so lively - whilst at the same time not having the normal undesirables you can get in busy pubs. I was happy for my kids to be there. The food was basic but really good value 2x 10" ribeye steaks for 10! The place does need a refurb though. ref preveous comments about the managers. Whilst I was drinking at the bar i spoke to Sam, Richard and Gary. They all spoke to us like real people which is rare for pubs these days. I am happy to recomend this place to anyone.
