Young and Jackson's, Melbourne

Brilliant as a starting spot for pub crawling

The Sherlock Holmes, Melbourne

Lovely, just watch the stairs on the way to the loo. Apart from that it reminds me of a lot of Charing Cross bars in london

The Old Fitzroy Hotel, Woolloomooloo

Lovely. First pub visited when I got to Sydney. Even the unwanted attentions of a drunk lesbian were not enough to dampen my spirits in this gem of a pub.

The Empire Hotel, Kings Cross

Got hammered in here on wine wearing pyjamas. Awful

The Elephant and Wheelbarrow, St Kilda

Brilliant but went for the usual backpacker reasons.
Did manage to see Toadie's sweaty arse humping away at some impressionable Brit in the loos which was a personal crowning moment in life

The College Arms, Bloomsbury

jeezus.
studied there recently and hated the stereotype I was put in.
Give me a decent boozer and undercover tax dodging.

Dorset Arms, Lewes

My grandad's wake was held here in one of the function rooms.
The staff were especially friendly and helpful on a particularly difficult day. My grandad not being much of a drinker used to cycle there and have a half pint with his mates on a sunday. This all brings up a fond image of a well-run family pub and it certainly lived up to this image then.

Now apparently they've got plasmas in. Great.

The Blue Posts, Piccadilly

Fantastic. We come here to shelter from the crappy overpriced chain bar scene, and now I've revealed them I am regretting it.

Did anonymous really "leave" or did that huge saffa guy behind the bar remove him????

<silence>

The Hare, Langton Green

Possibly the best pub for miles.

We visit regularly from London to get a bit of country air and a warm reception in a friendly pub! Chris is a great manager - I should know, I've been going there since Brian was there and while it isn't the same pub it was, it's still a great venue for a superb lunch/dinner in a country setting.
