The George, South Woodford

Very nice place as a start to a good night out. Real ale is always on and is of a good quality. Can get very busy but is still very relaxed and the staff are quite good. Don't really understand the last couple of comments, clearly from people who expect to be waited hand on foot whilst enjoying the cheapest pint in the area. In fact i'm rather glad they don't like the place as hopefully they won't drink in there so the other 95% of us can relax without such blatent snobbery. Top-noch, highly recommend!

The Heathcote, Leytonstone

This pub has recently gone down hill, for no apparent reason. used to be great for football and pool with fair priced beer shame. in need of manager as well

The Railway Bell, South Woodford

Dingy, poorly decorated pub with a physiognomically ignorant governor, who is only interested in collecting a wage, without the complications of the job, i.e. customers and service

The Red Lion, Leytonstone

Good pub during the summer, one of the best in London, but for some strange reason, Zulus and the cold English winter must make all the south Africans home sick, in the summer their friendly, funny and nice but in the winter they seem to get more aggie resulting in far to many police being called to sort it out, not such a good pub :-(

The Walnut Tree, Leytonstone

Well what can a say, to coin a phrase 'you get what you pay' loads of drink for not a lot, and not a lot of entertainment or service in return, but hey you can always make your own fun and fuelled by cheap drink, it can be a great atmosphere :-)

The Sheepwalk, Leytonstone

You don't get many locals as good as this place, great east London boozer which encapsulates Londons great diversity, great for food, drink and has a great atmosphere weather for a quiet chat or for watching sports, fantastic:-)

O'Neills, Leytonstone

o'neill's Leytonstone is the type of bar you finish up in, it always plays good music, has a great atmosphere and nice staff, it's cheap and has a large selection on draughts, wines and Alco pops. Although it's not open till 5, it has big screens and plasmas, sky sports and a typical but nice o'neill's menu, I would never classify it as a local's pub but more of a place you'd go to occasionally just as something a little more special;-)
