The Beehive, Wandsworth

Last post wildly misses the point. In an area dominated by huge, modern factory 'pubs' and run-down locals that confuse grubbiness with 'character', the Beehive is a beacon of what a true local is; comfortable for locals, welcoming of strangers, good beer served well.

I had a cracking Saturday night here a couple of weeks ago with good mates, good talk, great beer, excellent tunes and marvellous hospitality from Rick, Sue and 'Bouncer' (not a real bouncer). Just the sort of pub worthy of support.

Bradleys, Fitzrovia

I love this place. Love it. Great surroundings, atmosphere, beer, spirits, and music music music!

Good people seem to come here for a thoroughly good time, and I shall certainly be among them for a long time to come.

But.

(and if this has been corrected, someone please say) the Gents is now a p***-take on the customers. It used to be amusing. Now it's insulting.

I really hope they sort this out before the licencing types get down there and take issue with it. Until then, it loses a point; still a 9 for me though.

The Birdcage, Bethnal Green

Just went to this pub for the first time. Great staff, great pint, great landlord. My mate used to go there as a kid, and was greeted with a hug. Big handshake from John the Landlord as I left. Very very comfortable atmosphere. Old school pub in the best possible sense. More power to it.
