The Halfway House, Earlsfield

why does this pub keep running out of Youngs ordinary and special? Making Winter Warmer the only ale at £4.14 a pint? Seems to be every week.

Gardeners, Southfields

very pleased that my locals been reborn. I dont need to wander about drinking dodgy beer any longer.

Gardeners, Southfields

Re-opened! Initial impression looks ok. High seats rather like the halfway house but not their prices! 2.90 for youngs ord and 5 pence more for special. More 2morra.

The Bag O' Nails, Victoria

I had the same problem last Tuesday. I walked in and all the bar staff dissapeared! I was getting a tad paranoid. When some tourists entered they re-appeared, ignored me, served them. I cant vouch for the ales as I never got a chance of having any.

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

Gardeners, Southfields

With chamge of owner and most of the contents cleared out, looks like the Gards is in for a refurb. Oh god! Look what Youngs done to the Halfway house. Sky sports is going or gone.( though at 3000+ a month it dont surprise me.)

10 Apr 2009 11:05

The Windmill, Upminster

Nice pub with nice garden. Shit service.

27 Apr 2008 08:47

The Shipwrights Arms, Faversham

Went here last Friday, very nice pub. Beer was great didnt eat though, but when I ogled other peoples tuck it looked ok. They have an obsession with chalked signs saying you cant do this, you cant do that, clean your shoes/boots,put yer shirt on,no public right of way,dogs/children on leads and dont dare eat your own sandwich in the garden.Apart from the signs a great pub!

The Windsor Castle, Clapham Junction

Ban news. This pub is due to be demolished next year to make way for the restructuring of clapham junction.

19 Jan 2008 09:46

The Worlds End, Tilbury

Cycled here yesterday. Nice place and beer. I pity the poor budgie in the smoking area though!

9 Oct 2007 11:07

The Plough, Clapham Junction

Its being bulldozed and rebuilt as a trendy bar with flats on top.

15 Sep 2007 12:00

Gardeners, Southfields

Nice work done to to the front garden, wood floor, glass panels and heated umbrellas. Wished I still smoked now!

16 Aug 2007 15:35

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

At least its still a pub! The rumours of wine bar/restaurant were thankfully only that.Beer range has improved, though I've to get a pint I'd describe as v.good

6 Jul 2007 12:28

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

The Timmy Taylors seems to have dissapeared now. Although the pumps still there it's not been on for a while now. Its either London Pride( which for some reason is nasty here)or IPA. If the rumoured refurb goes ahead then I'm off! 25years drinking here, had great times and now the owners want to destroy it.

26 May 2007 10:55

The Grid Inn, Southfields

Unfortunately this place is a let down in Wetherspoons normally pleasant portfolio. Its ok if you're the big drunk geezer at the corner of the bar. They'll serve you before anyone else all the time. A lack of staff at crucial times ( chelsea home games) doesn't help and why are the tables always sticky and clustered with half eaten platefuls? I could go on.

26 May 2007 10:49

The Puzzle, Battersea

Now called THE TAYBRIDGE. And they give your change on a silver tray. Urgh!

27 Feb 2007 14:30

The Horse and Groom, Horsham

Looked a bit rough from the outside but upon entering, great beer and a well busted lass behind the bar. Hmm! See you next season.

18 Feb 2007 11:05

Ye Old Stout House, Horsham

Looked forward to visiting this pub. Unfortunately it was closed at 5.30 on a Saturday afternoon. Oh well, I'll try again next season!

18 Feb 2007 11:03

The Park Tavern, Southfields

I think the new chaps have done a great job here. Good luck to them. Wish they could sort out the nerks who hang around the phone box as well.

4 Dec 2006 16:09

The Windsor Castle, Clapham Junction

Well, idabiz seems like a nice polite person. For the record i'm not 'scum', have never caused a fight and certainly dont abuse bar staff. I cant remember the last time i acted like an animal either. Neither do i abuse people i dont know on the internet. Since when has 'having an opinion' been a crime? have a nice day.

4 Dec 2006 15:58

The Mitre Hotel, Tooting

lets start with some positives. its a pub.its in a nice building ( which could be great).tis cheap too.
and then...
unfriendly, used to be pretty good for a punch up,( havent been for a while). not the place you'd take your granny.reminds me of the demolished st. helier tavern. aah, memories.

30 Nov 2006 15:14

Kingsmeadow, Kingston upon Thames

Home of afcwimbledon and kingstonian. Great gathering place before and after matches, live music and comedy nights plus big screen football. Frequently changing real ale too.
Keeps me appy.

30 Nov 2006 14:32

The Foley Arms, Claygate

I havent been to the foley for over 20 years. Ah! the memories. If its as good now as it was then it probbly desrves to be at no.1. stiff competition though. Biker certainly seems to like it!

30 Nov 2006 14:28

The Woodman, Wimbledon Park

just re-opened after a bit of a paint job.unfortunately had teething troubles in kitchen so had to stop taking food orders. bit annoying but i'll try again next week. also the carvery has gone!!! bring it back, it was the best thing about the place on a sundat.

The Pineapple, Kentish Town

went in friday afternoon on one of its good days seemed ok, like the little corridors and back room.

30 Sep 2006 08:35

The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town

wonderfull old fashioned boozer, lots of architecture to drool over and curiously lumpy seats.

30 Sep 2006 08:30

The Assembly House, Kentish Town

big sprawling place, handy for the station and with all the requirements for a good jolly up.

30 Sep 2006 08:28

The Pub With No Name, Brighton

this pub is called' the pub with no name'. therefore it has a name.

29 Jun 2006 09:51

The Sussex, Brighton

The Geese Have Gone Over The Water, Brighton

stupid name stupid place. stoppit.

29 Jun 2006 09:40

The Queens Head, Brighton

Boring fact. I was a plastic mod back in '79. One bank holiday in the queens head some skins threw a plastic chair through the window and i got arrested for hiding under the table.

29 Jun 2006 09:38

The Evening Star, Brighton

Stop the regulars hogging the bar and the star gets a 10.I felt like lee van cleef entering a saloon. Once I'd been accepted and managed to get a drink i sat down and thought 'oh joy of joys, a decent pub with decent beer and no shitty herberts to spoil my day!'

29 Jun 2006 09:36

The Halfway House, Earlsfield

They really must put blinds up in the toilets, the whole street outside can watch you wazzing.

28 Jun 2006 09:46

Hare and Hounds, Tooting

Boarded up

28 Jun 2006 09:41

The Slug and Lettuce, Wimbledon

11 May 2006 13:49

The Windsor Castle, Clapham Junction

New management who do a great line in barring people.
" Oh Jim, where for art thou? Come back and get this place back to its decent self again."

28 Mar 2006 12:06

The Spread Eagle, Wandsworth

what is it about people over 50? Are they a different race who shouldn't be allowed to go for a drink? Everyone seems obsessed with old people. Get real, you'll all end up the same. I like diving in here for a drink and a perusal of the papers. Great beer. The big screen is utter tosh though. I'm 41.

28 Mar 2006 12:00

The Irish Pub, Berlin

This place is big and lively. Good live music but they should lose the wird women who hangs around the toilets scaring the punters.
