Red Lion, Ealing

My favourite pub in Ealing. Food and beer are excellent. Beer garden is lovely in summer.

The Artichoke, Canterbury

Found this nice little pub whilst staying in a local B&B. Lovely old building full of character. Staff and locals were friendly. We had dinner and the food was very good.

The Green Man, Ingrave

The previous negative reviews have clearly been left by disgruntled individuals on a personal vendetta against the people who run this pub!
It is obvious a lot of time and hard work has gone into renovating and improving this lovely old pub.
The bar staff are friendly and the food is very good, with a good selection of special dishes. Large selection of beers too.
The beer garden is fantastic on a summer day, with plenty of tables, a pond and BBQ area.
I think some people forget pubs are for adults, not playgrounds for their children.

The North Star, Ealing

Great looking pub, it has a perculiar old world charm from the outside.
Inside the decor is cosy and dark with laid back lounge style seating, and there's a small outside area ideal for smoking or summer.
Could be a great pub, but it's either understaffed or the staff are incompetent, I'm not sure which.
If it's busy, which is likely, you will queue for a long time and there is no sense of urgency to serve you.
On one occasion I asked for my pint to be topped up (it was served in a 'pint to line' glass - the head was level with this and the beer about a finger below). The barman took the time to examine the pint and informed me it was within the legal 5% margin! I have no idea if he is correct. Cost me 3.50, should be bloody full!
