Comfortable pub. Not as polished as the Barley Mow / Hole in the Wall nearby but the barmaid and regulars were welcoming including Bella the dog. Tiled inside even if some of the edges were a little worn. Couple of pints of Thatchers Gold. Would recomend these three pubs on a mini pub crawl just south of the city centre. No seats at the adjacent King's Street Tavern but probably a nice few hours drinking to be had in this little stretch of residential roads.

Good atmosphere. Nice pint of Stowford. Will seek it out if I'm in the area again

The Duke of Devonshire, Southsea
Good mix of locals and visitors. Most homely of pubs in Albert Road area. Shame there was no real cider available otherwise it would have gotten higher mark still

The Fifth Hants Volunteer Arms, Southsea
Despite being in the GBG there was no real cider as I would have expected. Lots more puts on Albert Road area to pick before this one - agree with last few comments

Interesting film related memorabilia on the walls (Sherlock / Silent era). Quiet in the midweek afternoon we visited.

Busy on the friday evening we visited. Lured in by its historic claims which were prompty undone by the modern decor on the inside. Ok pint of Aspalls - would go again
