Spotted Cow, Poole

Excellent pub. Friendly landlord/landlady/staff and ALSO very much DOG FRIENDLY..... (Something that you don't find in very many places!)

I can recommend the Thatcher's Gold, even though "Jerry (the) Springer" (My Stella Artois drinking Springer-Spaniel) doesn't like it...

The Ferryman, Poole

Now CLOSED!!

The Potters Arms, Hamworthy

Please ignore all comments by "drink000" as :
A) he/she/it can only slag off all pubs..
B) The only "Coke" in here comes out of the dispenser along with lemonade/tonic etc..

There's a new partnership taken over (Edd and Emily) and they've made some wonderful improvements.
If you like Sky Sports etc theres a MASSIVE projection tv to watch the footy on etc, (The juke-box is pretty damn good too, just please no "Scooby-dooby-dooing" to the music!) (This means YOU Laurie Pickford!) plus there's a NEW pool table. (Not like the old one that seemed to have a bent slate!)

There's now some new food menu's including a "1 lunch menu", a "Curry and a pint menu" and the Sunday lunches have been reinstated. (YES, you did read that correctly- Lunchtime food for only a quid!)

(The defence rests.....)

The Wheatsheaf Hotel, New Milton

I can't see me drinking in here too much in the future, (Bring back the "Good ol' 80's) as the Stella is WAY too expensive... (3.70 a pint?)..

Sandbanks pubs are cheaper than that.....

The Carpenters Arms, Appleford

Good luck with the new pub, Haz.(New Landlord)..
(It allways used to be a good-un!)

The Greenridge, Upton

Getting better all the time..

(You could have war-games in the garden 'cos it's soooo big!)

Inn On The Quay, Poole

Now called....

Wait for it....

"The Pub On The Quay"...

(How many times can a pub change it's name?)

Still, a nice pub in a very good location...

New Years Eve?
Buy a ticket previously if you want to get in...
(I'm going to!)

The Ferryman, Poole

Getting better all the time!
The landlord's a nice bloke, and watch out for things moving unexpectedly.. (There's possibly a ghost!)
Starting to use this place more, due to "The Potters" being closed on a few occasions.
Sky Sport's normally on, and it's friendly but you do need to talk to the barstaff to get a rappour going..

Please ignore "Hopsucker" and try it... (It's worth a go!)

I've only rated it a 6, but it's getting better all the time....

What can I say?
This pub's just getting better and better!
The food's pretty good and very reasonable, there's no grumpy, fat b#stard behind the bar, and the Karaoke on Thursday's a scream....
(There's dogs howling outside the door!)(Not really!)
Even the carpet's clean enough to pass out on....

If you fancy a game of pool on Sundays then pop in, and I'll join you...

Try it, you'll like it!

The Red Lion, Swanage

My first visit to Swanage was an eye-opener.
This beverage establishment is very friendy, even towards a shaven-headed, sleeveless-shirt wearing thug-look-a-like person.
I drank several pints of apple-based liquids within these portals and then my memory started to fade.

I can really reccommend the "Special press" cider @ 7.3%

The Potters Arms, Hamworthy

This pub has recently changed hands and has made a marked improvement. The new Landlady has made many improvements, including new decor, new carpet, a Jukebox that you can actually choose what music you want to play, re-wiring (Lights so you can actually see your drink!) and a plasma tv..
The food is still great, and the Sunday lunch I had last week was very good value and also very tasty!
Disco's (remember those?) should be starting soon, and although we tried one the other Friday and the DJ broke down on the way, we just filled the Jukebox up with money and played 60's, 70's and 80's music all night. Great laugh!!!
If you're in the area, then don't listen to earlier comments, come on down and have a laugh! Tell them Reg sent you...(I play pool with a pink pool-cue, so I don't care!)

I can't really agree with "Millers" as it's my local.. Ok, sometimes some people just won't mix, but the Stella's always cold, and the barstaff are always friendly, and the food's most excellent..
The decor does need a lot of work, but I'm working on getting the landlord let me paint it up a bit...

The only real problem with this pub is there's an amnesiac virus lurking..

.......I keep forgetting going home!...

Inn On The Quay, Poole

Now it's become "Hectors House" of TV fame....
Beers always fresh and cold, and the barstaff are always more than happy to assist me with my next mornings hangover...
