The Plough, East Sheen

Coming upto August and still not re-opened. What are they doing in there...?

TC's, Selly Oak

wow! a lot of positive remarks so far and i have to say i agree ... to a point. The food is good enough and the staff seems polite and friendly. Can have a good game of pool there and often there are good deals on but its real strength lies in showing football matches: Screens everywhere and a good crowd that isn't full of the "England till i die" dickheads. Shortage of seating when the second room isn't open is the only problem.

That said, the beer isn't the greatest and the selection available is poor for my ale tastes. Interior nice but a little soul-less. Reasonable prices for food and drink.

A good pub tucked away in the heart of selly Oak with a nice crowd of people at the bar and behind the bar

The Goose At The OVT, Selly Oak

Really enjoyed this pub when i was at university ... but could never understand why. Locals and student are all present, but don't mix at all ... never seen any trouble though. Interior isn't great and beer garden is small, staff quick enough and polite but thats as far as it goes.

Always a lively atmosphere and a fantastic range of beers at the cheapest of prices. It remains my favorite pub in Selly Oak despite its short-comings! Must be all the hazy memories!

The Gun Barrels, Selly Oak

If your not a student, seriously .... don't bother. For students though, it remains a top place to meet up with mates and bump into someone you haven't seen for a while. Often gets very busy in the evenings, but thats not a problem as whoever goes there is not there for a quiet pint: Expect tanked up student having a good time before moving on into town.

In the daytime it is a quiet affair but retains a good atmosphere with comfortable seating, pool tables, beer garden and screened jukebox.

It should be known that the beer is good value, but is of a piss-poor quality with not a decent ale in sight. Pub grub does the business at a decent enough price.

The Hare and Hounds, East Sheen

Vying with the Plough for the top pub in Sheen, i reckon the Hare & Hounds edges it slightly: Great beer selection which is very well kept at lower prices than other places in the area. The clientelle is from a wide range of ages and backgrounds giving it a nice atmosphere where theres always someone to talk to at the bar. Staff are friendly and the large beer garden in the back is great in summer.

Ah, my local pub! New manager is an eccentric Irish chap whose heart seems in the right place. Done a good job making the place smarter and its still a great place for young and old alike to bump into each other. A true 'local' in every sense of the word.

Good choice of ales although i've tasted better elsewhere. However, the main problem i have is the prices which unfortunately puts me off coming down here more often.

The Slug and Lettuce, Richmond

An average place in a good location, especially in summer. The beer is not really to my taste here although there are some continental lagers behind the bar. Interior wooden decor is nice but not the place where you can get into a random chat with the person standing next to you.

Bar 38, Hammersmith

Was unfortunate enough to organise to meet someone here: An expensive bar with no soul to it at all. However, the bar staff were nice but i can find very little reason to go back here.
