The Old Thameside Inn, London Bridge

I must have met the same barman as JohnnyDC. This is the only pub in the entire world I have ever been refused service! Apparently I too had a look that was unacceptable. I grant you I was a bit peeved at having been overlooked while later arrivals at the bar were served, but the disgruntled look on my face was hardly a barring offence!

I quite liked the place up until that point, and would re-visit if someone can post the staff rota in advance.

The Mug House, London Bridge

topdog_andy must have been somewhere else... the true beauty of this place is that mobiles don't work at all! No signal through the brick and mortar of the bridge. This makes it an ideal place to slope off to after a long lunch to while away the afternoon, plus you avoid the irritation of mobile phone addicts sharing their inane chat with the world. The staff are also much friendlier now!

Auberge, Waterloo

A perfectly good bar ruined by awful staff... hopefully these comments will be redundant in 6 months when they've all been sacked! They seriously wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire, simply insisting that you leave as you're disturbing their break.

Please, please, please get some new staff!

The Woolpack, London Bridge

Good Grief... Reading previous reviews, I don't even recognise the place! This is a good, solid, local pub and as someone who works in the area, I wouldn't be without it! Ok, not somewhere to take a hot date and the food is a bit pricey, but the garden is an absolute boon in this age of global warming. The decor is a bizarre mix of whatever was handy at the time, but the staff are just brilliant! Imported from all over the continent and taught how to deliver proper pub service, if only bar staff were this good in all London pubs.
