The Kings Head, Earls Court

I was here last night and have to agree with other posters that this is a great pub, probably the best in Earls court. The only problem every time I go here is the lack of staff. The poor girl behind the bar was having to cope with a bar 3 deep in customers and with little help from the other barman who would dissapear regularly to clear glasses and tidy up. 20 minutes wait to get served on a Tuesday night is enough to put me off going for a while...

Nordic, Fitzrovia

I'm sure I paid knocking on for 4 quid for a pint of Carlsberg in here last night. I was so hammered though that it didn't seem that bad at the time

The Owl and the Pussycat, Shoreditch

I had sunday lunch here once, and we counted 14 different types of vegetable, and the amount of beef was good too. I had a hangover as well, which disappeared after eating this epic lunch - enabling me to create another one.

Bar Risa, Reading

"we are Readings best bar/niteclub"

it doesn't get any bigger than that - time to give this place a visit I think

Bar 38, Hammersmith

Great place to take a girl if you want to dump her. Simply arrange to meet there and pronunce it as your favourite pub. Arrive a bit late, and she might have already fled. If she hasn't, the place is so depressing that she will soon be reassessing her life and walk out in tears.

If this doesn't work, take her to the hop poles and pretend you know some of the terrifying locals in there.

The Britannia, Monument

Last time I went here there was a sad, lonely man in his 50s dancing on his own in the corner, totally drunk. I can imagine this was how Ebeneezer Scrooge felt when he saw the ghost of christmas future.

Great pub for people watching, if the people you like to watch are the terrifying dregs of the city. It's the sort of place that fills up when every other place has shut, so don't bother going before 11pm, if you bother going at all.

Light Bar, Shoreditch

one of those places that has a queue and then when you get in, there's about 20 people in there. Nice in the summer as you can have a beer in the garden, but shite any other time as you always seem to be in a spot where people barge past you. I once got nutted in this pub for no reason. When I told the bouncer he didn't even throw the bloke out as 'he wasn't causing any trouble anymore'.

The Curtain's Up, West Kensington

Every time I go into this pub the staff seem to be different. It has everything needed to be a great pub and it's in a spot where it could be a gem. Despite this, it is consistently under par. I have seen more people walk out due to not getting served than any other pub I can remember. Food was surprisingly ok the last time I ate though, and the theatre downstairs has some good plays on.

The Hop Poles, Hammersmith

Went to this pub on a Thursday night. Blaring music made conversation almost impossible, but the three old men that made up the entire clientele didn't seem to mind.
