The Black Lion, Kilburn

I happened across this place on Saturday when friend I was due to meet elsewhere was late and I popped in out of the cold. We liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed all evening.
Decor and beers as described below, friendly bar-staff and a good atmosphere all round.
Definitely worth going back to - in fact, definitely worth seeking out.

The Stone Horse, Mayfair

Well, after finding two pubs nearby closed at 8pm on a Sat eve, it was a relief to find signs of life here.
Tribute and London Pride in good order, the chips looked and smelt nice, not too busy and there's a great little alcove if you want to pretend you've got your own private (mini) room.

The Rocket, Mayfair

The restaurant upstairs was pretty good, I thought. Light and airy with really high ceilings. Reasonably priced (esp. for Mayfair). Would return.

The bar downstairs was, again, actually quite good with a separate bar and lounge areas. Ok, so not a hand pump in sight, but we all appreciate a change occasionally. Somewhere to take a lady rather than go for a drinks with your mates.

The Grosvenor Arms, Mayfair

Wandered here from the Iron Duke around the corner only to find that the Grosvenor also closes on Sat evenings. It was not my lucky night.
