The Slip Inn, Longwood

Nice refurbishment but the landlady seems to have taken her eye off the ball since. Beer quality questionable. Younger, uninterested bar staff (to the young man who served me - a please or thank-you would have been nice), glasses uncollected in beer garden on the Sunday I visited.

Needs a kick up the ....

The Slip Inn, Longwood

Open. Closed. Open. Closed. Currently open, but who knows for how long?

William Morris, Cowley

Bog standard wiggies, good range of ales. Expect to be kippered on the way in by the large crowd of inconsiderate smokers huddled in the doorway.

The White Horse, Leamington Spa

That plastic white horse is quite scarey after a few pints! Not a bad pub though, little on the expensive side and short measures but apart from that, recommended.

The Dusty Miller Inn, Longwood

Worth seeking out, good selection of real ales, if a little on the expenses side. No food.

The Saddle Inn, Lindley

Beer ok. Hostile inhabitants, better places to drink in the village.

The Barge and Barrel, Elland

Recommened for real ale lovers, good selection of beers from local breweries.

The Grove Inn, Huddersfield

Shows what can be done with an average pub and a little application. Excellent range of beers, 8 handpumps and a bottled menu that should satisfy even the most hardened duval drinker. Well worth the short walk from the town centre.

The Rat and Ratchet, Huddersfield

Highly recommended. Has improved since Osset bought it (and it was good before that). Good range of beers, could do with a quiz machine.
Well worth a visit.

The Crescent, Huddersfield

It's shut. It's now a tapas joint with bar. Not a sad loss.......

Varsity, Huddersfield

Not bad food. Relatively chav-free, even when town are at home.

The Lord Wilson, Huddersfield

Now called "The Lord Wilson". Hopefully the name change will give it the kick up the arse it needs. Used to be an ok pub, now is probably one of the few pubs in town that I try to avoid, surley staff, grotty and dark inside.

The Zetland Arms Hotel, Warwick

Made to feel very unwelcome, bar staff preferring to chat to locals before serving me, beer was thumped down on the bar.

Felt like a local clique. Won't be returning

The Rat and Ratchet, Huddersfield

Osset Brewery now own this excellent pub. Good and varied range of beers.

The Zephyr, Huddersfield

Small and lively bar in the centre of town, excellent and substantial bottled beer range, some good drafts too. Ecletic music, pinball machine, good staff, live bands. Recommended.

Warehouse, Huddersfield

They can't even keep lager well here so maybe it's for the best that they don't do real ale! Avoid.

Thomas Lloyd, Warwick

Nicely laid-out pub with standard Lloyds food and drink. Suffers from usual Wetherspoon chain problems (i.e chronic under-staffing of the bar at peak periods) but you get what you pay for.

The Lord Wilson, Huddersfield

Now has Sky sports. Ale range and quality has been poor of late.
