The bar staff are not exactly rocket scientists, so if you're in a group and there's one of you that you're not sure will "fit in", then your best advice is to keep on walking. There are plenty of better pubs nearby.

Very friendly pub. Good food available all day. Three real ales, although the Speckled Hen was off when I cycled through.

The Balcony Restaurant and Bar, Luton
Probably not somewhere I'd choose to spend a whole evening unless there's a quiz on (or some major live football), but for what it is (i.e. a bar attached to a recreation centre � which houses a very friendly gym) it does the job, and does it well. Meal deals on certain days, and good beer every day. And very handy for Luton Airport Parkway railway station to boot.
