The Royal Oak, Tettenhall Wood

This place does a fantastic pint of Banks's mild, quite possibly the best Banks's i've had in Wolverhampton area. The inside is like sitting in somebody's house and seems a bit cluttered but all in all a cracking pub.

The Shoulder of Mutton, Tettenhall Wood

I really like this pub and can't understand why people don't use it.There was only 3 other people in on a Saturday afternoon but i liked the interior and a had a rather spiffing pint of Banks's mild.

The Swan Inn, Compton

Have only been to this pub once but it was a cracking pint and seemed a really nice pub.I think the previous comment must be referring to the Swan in Lower Street which is indeed lifeless. The bufoon.

The Old Harkers Arms, Chester

This is great pub, only visited during the day so it hasn't been too crowded.Unfortunately they don't sell mild but they advise on what the darker ales are and let you have a sample.Loads of real ales though so always able to find something good.

The Boot Inn, Chester

Always visit this place when in Chester, the Samuel Smith's mild is a cracking pint, and dirt cheap.Always found the staff very freindly aswell.Top pub.

The Codsall Station, Codsall

Around 12 months ago i would have given this place a 9 out of 10 but each time i go in the beer seems to be slowly deteriating.I absolutely love Holdens normally but tried a couple of pints of mild and they were flat and smelt of vinegar.Went on to the Murphys which was fine. It's a shame as the pub is really nice and brilliantly situated and i find the staff to be very friendly and welcoming so i don't like to run it down but it's such a shame when it could be class with better kept beer.

The Colliers Arms, Cheslyn Hay

Went in here recently to thrash my chum at darts and had a couple of pints of Highgate mild which was simply divine.Seems a decent pub.

Lamp Tavern, Bloxwich

Well done whoever nominated this pub, have been going in here for the last 12 months and it gets better and friendlier each time.Had a pint of Holdens mild on a recent trip to watch Bloxwich Utd play and it'll go down in History as one of the finest pints i've ever had.

The Robin 2, Bilston

Went to see a band here and unlike most live music venues they let you outside for a smoke and all the doorstaff were friendly.Had some top quality Banks's mild aswell.Dr's verdict - best music venue in West Mids.

The Olde White Rose, Bilston

Nice big pub with a massive selection of beers.I usually go for the Theakstons mild which is class.Dr's verdict - worth catching the metro for.

The Trumpet, Bilston

Tend to go during the day as i'm not a fan of jazz but they do shut for a few hours late afternoon.Class Holdens mild.Dr's verdict - best in Bilston.

The Posada, Wolverhampton

Nice friendly pub with a good choice of beers, Timothy Taylor, Adnams Broadside, London Pride, etc.Loses a point for no mild especially as it used to have Tetley mild.Dr's verdict - get in there.

The Great Western, Wolverhampton

Best pub in Wolverhampton, Holdens mild, Bathams bitter and Murphy's are all top notch.Dr's verdict - try all three.

The Wheatsheaf, Wolverhampton

The Banks's mild is quality, the pub can attract a few dodgy characters.Have not had any trouble though and the staff seem friendly enough.Dr's verdict - probably best to pop in during the day.

The Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton

This is rockers pub especially on Friday/Saturday nights but i went on a Monday afternoon recently and it was empty.Had a pint of Old Speckled Hen which was nice enough but a bit warm.Dr's verdict - go and check out the coffin shaped tables.

The Fox Hotel, Wolverhampton

Went in here on a Monday afternoon and it was fairly quiet but freindly.Had a pint of Banks's mild which was class so ended up stopping for a few more.Dr's verdict - go and have a quiet pint.

The Royal Oak, Wolverhampton

Cracking Banks's mild in here, can get quite busy weekends.Decent sized smoking garden.Dr's verdict - go and have a pint outside in the sunshine.

Chindit, Wolverhampton

No mild in here but a couple of unusual bitters which are decent enough.Been twice on Saturday afternoons and it was empty both times.Dr's verdict - alright for a game of pool.

Combermere Arms, Wolverhampton

Good pub with 3 small rooms and covered smoking room.Used to have fantastic mild but is a bit hit and miss these days. Also has a couple of guest bitters and a decent jukebox.Dr's verdict - give it a try.
