The Lounge, Spanish Tapas Bar, Balham

My boyfriend and I used to live just around the corner from The Lounge and we used to go for breakfast at weekends religiously until we moved (haven't found an equivalent in Clapham yet!). The couple who run the place are fantastic at what they do and make this place what it is. Great value for money, uncomplicated and always good.

B@1 (Be At One), Covent Garden

Yummy cocktails!! Really good value during their happy hour, take your girlfriends and work your way through the cocktail menu - fab!

The Corner Store, Covent Garden

I really like this place! I often suggest this place to meet up if the people I'm meeting up with are all dotted around London - it's good and central. They have a really nice menu, great steak, fab Sunday roasts and a good "picky" bit on the back if you fancy sharing. You can book the couches in the middle and you get table service if it's quiet - great place - would highly recommend!

Jim Thompson's, Wimbledon

Love the food. Best Thai restaurant in South London. That flat bread with the green curry sauce on the side - yum!

Cafe Sol Dos, Clapham

Went last week for a meal which was... OK. They seem to use the same chicken, salsa, cheese, kidney bean "mix" on everything so no matter what you order it all seems to taste the same - odd. Also we had a bottle of Rose which wasn't great. Do try the armadillo eggs though - seriously potent!

Star and Garter, Putney

Have been to a few parties at Bar M and can't say I was overly impressed. Lacks atmosphere and not great seating if you book an area (booths that are back to back don't facilitate conversation). Never tried the food so couldn't comment.

The Boathouse, Putney

Love this place. Have been a couple of times for Saturday lunch and ended up staying for the rest of the evening. The restaurant is great, I would highly recommend.

Industry, Shoreditch

Have recently returned and have to take back my previous comment. Although the drinks are still very expensive (automatic doubles means a vodka and coke will set you back 8) the new menu is perfectly reasonable for its City location. Had a very yummy steak wrap - highly recommended!!

Light Bar, Shoreditch

This is one of my favourite places to go in the City in the summer. The interior is fantastic as well, very spacious with high ceilings so good if there's someone in your party who doesn't like smokey pubs. The food is quite good and although I've never been apparantly the adjoining restaurant is fab.

Prepare to feel robbed. Seriously overpriced.

The Sir Paul Pindar, Bishopsgate

I hate this place. It stinks, the people who go are the WORST type of City bod and it has absolutely no charm or character. The only reason to go to this dump would be the cheap drinks.

The Broadgate Exchange, Broadgate

Crikey! Mr Lash has quite strong feelings about this one. Just in case anyone was thinking of going there don't be too put off by his comments. This pub is just a run of the mill normal drinking establishment which serves average food for a reasonable price. It can be difficult getting a drink at 1pm on a Friday but where isn't it? It doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and it's far less pretentious than some of the other pubs in the area.

The Clapham North, Clapham North

I've been here a few times and also have mixed feelings about the place. I went for a Sunday roast a few weeks ago and found the food not that great and over priced. In general though it's above average and at least it doesn't have that manufactured chain feeling about it.

The Fine Line, Clapham

I had a birthday drinks party at this pub in March and everyone had a great time. There were about 20 of us and we took up the couches on the platform bit at the back, it was perfect. It started at around 2pm so it wasn't too busy but it was PACKED by the time we left at midnight (although by that stage I didn't care as you can imagine). I would definitely recommend it for a party.
