It's not often I like pub refurbs, but this one is excellent. Most impressed. The Abercorn is a bit of a walk for me, but I will be making the effort in future. Big improvement.

I haven't been in here for a while despite it being my local pub. I gave up a while back as the service was so awful. So last night (for some reason) I decided to give it another go.... I see it's the same old Anglers - almost impossible to get served and the kids behind the bar couldn't be any more ponderous if they tried. I like everything else about the place, but they really have to put a rocket under the staff and introduce them to the idea of work. Ah well, I'll give it another go in six months maybe. Shame.

Actually, credit where it's due, the Dowager is a really decent pub these days. It is very quiet but maybe it is because people remember it from when it was rubbish.
I think people should give it another go.

Stopped in here on Sunday evening and they actually had plenty of staff working for a change. Gone was the interminable wait to get served. I often gave up waiting to get served in here and went next door instead. And the roast beef was much improved - but then it ought to be at nine quid....
Still plagued by kids running up and down. Fair enough in the garden, but not in the bar. Why do people insist on imposing their brats on others?
But it was still a lot better than it used to be. Hope it wasn't just a one-off.

I've given up on this place. I only live round the corner and have been in countless times recently and it's just impossible to get served. I don't think the barstaff could be any more useless. The Tide End next door is a much better run pub.

The Anglers, Teddington
Gave it another go last night after nearly a year. Still utterly hopeless barstaff I see - so slow!!!! Get rid of the young kids behind the bar and get some decent staff in who know what work is. Ah well, back to the Tide End then...
