The Giant Pot, Weymouth

Good beer in a real old fashioned, in the best sense of the word, local. Reasonably priced to. Well worth a visit.

The Old Kings Head, Borough

My first visit in over 25 years - what a relief to find it still a proper pub. Warm friendly atmosphere; people talking (perhaps because of the absence of loud music); excellent pint of Reindeer; happy hour (did not expect to write that, especially as the late afternoon trade was so busy). A real gem well worth seeking out if in the Borough area. Long may this continue.
P.S. I do not intend leaving it another 25 years!!

The Boot, Weymouth

Why do I travel 8 miles to go to my 'Local' passing many other pubs on my way? Superb beer from Ringwood plus a guest (a sampler offered); no quibbles when a barrel is at its end; a warm welcome from whoever is behind the bar; clean ash trays, tables, glasses, everything; the customers - they make you welcome too. Great people on both sides of the bar. Dogs are welcome too - water provided care of Wessex Water!!
This is how a pub should be run, but so few are.
Everything 'ticketyboo!'

The Eight Kings, Portland

Quiet village local (not so quiet on Karaoke or Quiz Night!) set in excellent walking country on Portland. Friendly staff, Ringwood Best Bitter, but no food. Dog friendly if you are walking your four footed friend - on a lead. Car park.

Well worth a visit if you are on Portland - a real 'local.'
