Charlie's Bar, Copenhagen

Went in there on Monday 15th September. Very Friendly, an excellent local community pub atmosphere.
Quiet and tastefully furbished so you can just sit and talk, like you used to be able to do in British pubs. Half a dozen hand pump British beers, O'Hanlons (stout), Harveys, Shephard Neame, St Austell (HSD) & Gales. They have had about 500 different beers on since they opened. Plus a good selection of Danish Micro beers (Thisten, Hancocks)

The Harp, Covent Garden

What a gem. The staff are really, really friendly, and even though it is often crowded in the evening the service is superb.Good range of real ales including many of my favourites, Harveys, Tim Taylor Landlord, always in excellent condition. SPBW London pub of the year 2008.

The Calthorpe Arms, Holborn

Great Local. Youngs always in tip-top shape. Very friendly, excellent service and good food. What more could you want. I know several buses stop just outside.

The Carpenters Arms, Kings Cross

The real ale so often seems to be tired & old, and there never seems to be anyone in there unless there is a darts match. The worst thing is the continual stream of 40 year old music.

The Brunswick Inn, Derby

So many good beers on, it was hard to know what to choose. My favourites are their own Brunswick beers. Graham has a good regular range such as triple Hop & The usual, but is always willing to try new ones. He had a very strong cherry tasting beer called Cherry B, which I liked. A great pub.

The Alexandra Hotel, Derby

Wow! I went in there on Saturday & it had 3 milds -Batemans, Elgoods & Castle Rock -all of which were excellent. Add in the friendliness & the ambience & it is a truly excellent pub.

The Flowerpot, Derby

Went in there on Saturday -a great range of beers including their own Headless ones. The food is pretty good as well.

The Royal Oak, Borough

Visited there this week -Frank & John are 2 of the friendliest and most helpful licencees in London. The beer quality was superb and the service excellent as ever.

The Calthorpe Arms, Holborn

Friendly pub, good well priced food, and the Youngs Ordinary as ever was in fine fettle. For Sports lovers there is a non intrusive Sky screen.

The Sekforde Arms, Clerkenwell

A very friendly back street local in Clerkenwell. The Youngs beer is of consistently high quality and the food is very good value.

The Royal Oak, Borough

One of my favourite pubs in all the world. Food is stupendous, huge portions of lamb shank, rabbit, sometimes halibut & pheasant and loads more at a reasonable price. Full range of Harveys beers including always the excellent dark Mild. Winner of SPBW London pub of the year twice in the last 4 years.

The Lord Clyde, Borough

Played darts in here in a separate room. The Youngs in here is always excellent, often better than many Youngs pubs. In fact it was so good that I didnt try the Adnams or the Fullers Pride. -Excellent service and the football on the TV added to my enjoyment.

The Charles Dickens, Southwark

This is an excellent pub which usually has at least 5 real ales -always in very good condition. A friendly establishment with a nice ambience and good food. On 20/2/07 they had Brains Bread of Heaven, Adnams Broadsword, Cottage Wessex, Wadworths Henrys IPA, Sharps Doom Bar and Gales swing low. Hope the England/Welsh Rugby teams do justice to all these ales brewed specially. Situated in a very good area for an excellent crawl.
