The New Inn, Winchelsea

Wandered in here while visiting the church across the road, found a real log fire blazing away and a bustling bar-restaurant, I dined on fresh grilled cod, not battered or breaded and deep fried but full of flavour honest fish, superb! I havent been here in ten years but I will be sure to return much sooner now.

The Plough, Cock Marling

Agreed, three new comments on the 15th timed at 11.08, 12.02 and 13.35 by new registrants and an anonymous, all saying how wonderful/marvelous this pub is, in response to a few criticisms, definitely suspicious to say the least. Looks like somebody is trying to manipulate this site, maybe it would be better to see if the points made are true and try to rectify them. Personally I find the dining at the Plough to be middleish, not outstanding, I drink wine mostly now and the house red is acceptable at lunchtime. I would say the pub rates 6/10.

The Rainbow Trout, Broad Oak

I had a small family luncheon here a few weeks ago, food was absolutely fine, wine was perfect and my dad swears his beer was wonderful, top that off with friendly service and you have a winner.

The Senlac Inn & Restaurant, Battle

Went yesterday, bloody dreadful. Its grubby, tacky and smelly with mediocre to poor plastic food.

The John Logie Baird, Hastings

The bar staff have serious social skill issues, the place is full of inebriates, need I say more?

The White Horse, Hurst Green

I loved the decor the moment I walked in, total class (maybe the outside could do with the same tratment?) and the reception and greeting was excellent, not many places have "properly" dressed staff anymore, a good waiter who was knowledgeable about the various dishes left us at ease and smiling in anticipation, sadly we were let down, the meals were ok'ish, they looked good but lacked flavour, garnishing oils and vinegars do not make up for tasteless unseasoned ingredients. I hope that this was just a temporary glitch though, and I will return to see if the package has been completed soon.
On a positive not though the White Horse has the most stunning views across the valley, if its cold then nab the table right by the doors, if its warm then get out onto the terrace, stunning.

The Two Sawyers, Pett

Awful food in a dirty pub, not worth more words.
