After a much gossip and speculation finally opened and doesn't seem worth the wait. The dampest of squibs, a vast improvement on the previous hovel but refurbed in the generic "new/old pub" way. Awful pint of Doombar with nothing else to choose from. Possibly finding its feet but seems to have fallen at the first hurdle.

Surprised to read such a poor review as has been excellent on my previous visits, couldn't comment on food but had a lovely pint of Doombar and large wine (�3.20 and �4.05), maybe cheaper places but not what I would consider to be "through the roof".

Nice pub in a town where there isn't many left, maybe looking a bit ragged but not to the detriment of a pleasent evening.

Never a favourite and never will be on based on recent visit, questionable service,clientele and cleaniness makes it one to avoid.

A former favourite that has sadly lapsed, would have to agree with other comments.

A real diamond in the rough and after a recent refurb even more polished,not in the area that often but would always try and make a visit.

Am still trying to like it but unfourtunately getting more unlikable, prices are high and service is low. A shame.
