Harvester, Dartford

It's a 'time warp' new Harvester built in what used to be the car park of the old Princes Hotel (knocked down to make room for the new car park for the new place). As you can see I am struggling to find something to say. OK - It's a Harvester - what more do you want?

The Riverhead, Riverhead

2009 and it's STILL a 1992 Harvester. No change there then.

The See-Ho, Shorne

Fairly recently changed hands I think. Certainly does tend to appeal to the 'older' clientel (now you know why we go there) but please don't let that put you off. The ale is well looked after and there's plenty of 'fizz' for the younger, less discerning set. Good menu and 'specials' board. Food is good and plentiful with a meat raffle Sunday lunchtime. Bar adornments are excellent.

The Gardeners Arms, Higham

Can do more than echo what Silk Tork has said. Excellent all round pub and eatery.

The Copperfields, Gravesend

This has now been taken over by Crown Carveries. It is often very busy so pick your time away from 'The Kiddie Hours' and you won't be disappointed (sorry lushlou). Excellent food, well cooked with plenty of it. 2 ladies on permanent circuit clearing and cleaning the tables. Going back tonight for the 4/5 time.

The Hare and Hounds, Arreton

Adequate and not particularly well priced; but the staff try hard.

Wight Mouse Inn, Chale

Went there last week. Vast, impersonal place with great beers, excellent food and the Beef & TANGLEFOOT pie was excellent (HSBplease please note ;-) ) and well served. Didn't stay so can't comment on the accommodation. Recommended for those with kids.

The Sloop Inn, Wootton Bridge

We were there last week (twice!) and I can confirm all that has been said by the last two posters. The food is excellent (particularly for the money), the beer is good and the staff try hard.
Not particularly cramped but keep away during the 'kid hours' although I have to say most were well behaved. This is now run by a chain calling themselves "Crown Carveries" so perhaps the food has perked up since Firedrake's time.

The Snooty Fox, Brading

This pub is no more.
It is deceased.
Gone to that pub heaven in the sky.
(apologies to Monty Python)
