The New Moon, Welling

If Carteraa is a certain Irish bloke i think he is, then Inferno's was always a pub with great atmosphere when he was running the place.

The New Moon, Welling

Says a lot about a pub, when even the previus manager is barred! It got a bit bad there in Gareth's last month or so. He was letting all sorts of people in, and i didn't get on with his cronies one bit. The bouncers must be there for decoration :O Not keen on that new landlady. She gives people that look that suggests, we could all go and die for all she cares. I like the look of the new barmaid that's there early afternoons, even though she doesn't seem to understand English very well. Yes, she is English :P That new landlady will be be gone in something like 3 months. There have been 4 different managers there in the past year. One for every season :D Oh, the new landlady in the Plough and Harrow, says that Gareth has gone to spain, for good i think.

It never really seems to get busy in there, and i have to admit that i like it like that. Maybe that's why the landlords change fairly regularly. I did pop in there on a Friday night once, and it was packed. Never mind being suprised us knowing where Gdansk is, i think the barman is suprised we know where Poland is lol

The Fighting Cocks, Godshill

I've only been to this pub 3 times, the last time back in October 1997, but it's one of the nicest pubs i've ever been to :) I live over in London, and can only go to this pub when i'm on holiday at Sandy Balls round the corner. However i might be going to sandy Balls again this coming October, so i'll be in the Fighting Cocks every day for a week no doubt :D From what i remember of this place, the barmaid was friendly, the beer was good and there was a nice atmosphere. I wish i could go in there every week. See you in there soon :D

The Moon Under Water, Leicester Square

I've been in here lots of times over the years, and to be honest i preferred the look of it before it was redecorated, looked more like a traditional pub then :) Still looks ok though, and there is lots more room now. Used to be hell to get served in there sometimes. As long as you go early you'll get served pretty much straight away. Barmaids used to be great (Aussies and Kiwis). Great selection of beer as well, which is always a good thing, as long as it's kept well :)

The Zoo Bar, Leicester Square

Went in there last summer for a quick drink before seeing a film at the Odeon round the corner, and i liked it in there. Hardly anyone else in there which was fine by me, and the barman seemed fairly polite. Had the most expensive bottle of cider i've ever drunk but it tasted good. Great music videos on a big screen in the corner :)

The Castle Tavern, Woolwich

Admittedly i don't pop in here as much as i used to (a bit hard considering this used to be the pub i popped into when i was at college in the late 80's, and i don't live in Woolwich) , but when i drink here at whatever time of the day, i always enjoy myself. Normally i'll go in early afternoon when it's quiet, and you just get a few shoppers and postmen in there. It gets very loud in the evenings, but nothing too out of hand. Good place to take a girlfriend or family depending on time of day. If you want to have a real good session with mates, or just have a quick pint by yourself you can still have an ok time. There's plenty of room inside, a jukebox with decent music on it (all tastes) , and two pool tables (including the smallest pub pool table i've ever seen!!!) . They do dinners in there, but never got around to ordering one due to too much drinking and pool playing :P The only pub i've known to serve a 99p pint of bitter, which was godsend at the time (this was about 10 years ago) . Must go in there again soon :)

The Lord Raglan, Woolwich

I remember popping in this pub once back in 1992, and i remember it being a very quiet traditional pub, with a strange atmosphere. I didn't feel like hanging around in there too long, in case things got a bit rough. It seemed very much to be a locals pub. Who knows, maybe it's changed a lot since then :)

The Coach, Greenwich

Great pub. Normally go in there after several hours of shopping. Great if you can get the leather sofa :) Barmaids are nice. After spending loads on cds etc in the market, i'm not really bothered about how much a pint costs.

The Gate Clock, Greenwich

Been in this pub a few times, and i've got nothing bad to say about it. Normally go in there after i've raided the cd stalls at the market :D Good mix of people and i've never had to wait a long time to get served. Great selection of beers (and no, i'm not an old man lol) Nice looking touristy women in there at the weekends :D

The Duchess, Greenwich

I used to drink in there back in the early 90's. Doesn't sound like it's changed then. It was a villains pub. Hope it does improve after the refurbishment. Christine (a friends sister) used to be a barmaid there back in the early 90's, and a great laugh she was to :)

The New Moon, Welling

Went in there last night and had a bloody good night :D Feel a bit wrecked at the moment. They've got yet another landlord in there. The new guy Gareth is a laugh, and easy to talk to. I was talking to the barman, and Gareth actually came over and introduced himself :O That never happens in pubs elsewhere, no matter how friendly the staff is. It was well cool about 9pm, when they showed A Clockwork Orange :D

The New Moon, Welling

Yeah this is a pretty good pub. I used to get on really well with Jane who used to run the pub (she was that large blond woman behind the bar that you might remember) , and she was friendly enough, but it usually time to leave when her daughter started working behind the bar in the evenings, and it wasn't a good idea to be around after about 8pm unless you wanted to get involved in a fight with the under aged drinkers! However, Eric (irish guy and a good laugh) has totally transformed the pub. Now you get really good looking polish barmaids in there, the service is always friendly, and as long as you go at the right time there isn't any agro. Give 4-5pm a miss, as it's idiot hour :P Pool tables are great, good music on the cd thing on the wall, and the women that drink in there are well nice :D Oh, the green pool table near the exit to the beer garden is the best one to play on :)

The New Cross Turnpike, Welling

Great pub, and it's the best one in Welling i reckon. Lots of good guest beers and cheep to. If you go on Monday the drinks are even cheaper!!! Top marks for the food to and the bar staff. I've been in there at varying times of the day and different days during the week, and i've never seen any trouble. Good mix of people young and old, white and ethnic. Yeah it's a 'talking' pub as i call it, but i don't mind that as my mates and i aren't conversationally challenged :P Good place to take a girfriend to :)
