The North Star, Leytonstone

Very average local that could be much better, unfortunately about the best place in Leytonstone. The location is good, but the bar itself needs a major refurbish. If the management improved the interior (dramatically) and employed a chef offering a few simple dishes they could make a fortune. This place like the rest of Leytonstone needs to move into the 21st century. Local people have money to spend if the place is right, as soon as the management realise this they will have a thriving business.

The Red Lion, Leytonstone

Close this place down and open a good gastro pub in it's place. It's clear that no one likes this place including the South Africans it's geared to. What people want is a friendly pub with great modern decor and superb food. Charge higher prices to cover the additional staff costs, instead of excluding non-South Africans as the current place does, dissuade the undesirable locals by charging more and encouraging dining.

This a great location in the heart of Leytonstone, get it right and the business will flourish!

The Sheepwalk, Leytonstone

Get rid of the TV screens, improve the decor, employ a good chef, increase prices which should dissuade the unruly youth and die-hard drunks who seem to like this place. Recipe for success.

Lincolns, Leytonstone

When is someone going to open a really good pub in Leytonstone?
One of the main things missing in Leytonstone is a proper gastro-pub. Hopefully an enterprising entrepreneur should realise this fact and open a really good pub. The residents in the area have changed dramatically and continue to do so with the ongoing regeneration of the surrounding areas. It is clear if you see who uses the tube that the area has a recent influx of young affluent professionals but they have nowhere In Leytonstone to socialise.

These people demand good beer, good food in a well styled pub, and they will happily pay for this. Think 'Cuckfields' in Wanstead only better food, better decor, or 'King Eddies' in Stratford, ditto food/decor. If you get this combination right, as a landlord, you could make a fortune!
