Pitcher and Piano, Winchester

had a really good night here, does get a little too busy for my liking and had to spend around 20 mins waiting to get served but when it'd not so busy you can really have a good night!

William Walker, Winchester

Since re-opening i find the place has picked itself up, looks lovely. toilets maybe could have had a looking to but on the whole looks good.
The menu, judging by previous comment is very much similar with slight changes but still really good food! i understand it has been taken over by the same landlord who owns the exchange and alfie's, saying that doesn't seem like the toilets are top of the list in any of the pubs.
A little expensive, couldn't spend a whole night there but friendly barstaff just needs to pick up buisness to really get good again!

i may differ from my peers in this case, ie writing on blogs, however i agree with them about the places we like to drink in winchester and i feel that the people that have commented on a STUDENT pub will not be as interested as people from a different generation.
Alfie's does need a clean i don't disagree however the atmosphere of the place and being so friendly is what is so attractive about the place.
friendly staff who are attentive and do try their best to cover its imperfections makes up for a lot of the problems it has.
i think when critisizing this place you have to understand it is a huge step up from when it used to be the Old Coach House which was unbelievable!
