The White Horse, Maldon

A local pub for local people! Strangers beware. The reaction we got was like The Slaughtered Lamb. *think duelling banjos and you will get it*
Made a quick exit after only using the toilet which is all it is good for.

The Bulstrode, Hounslow

We have pics of Matt & Mel. (lost touch though). There was Carl (long hair) and Logan (Mad French Guy)
Managers were Gordon & Margaret.

The Ruskin Arms, Manor Park

What a disapointment!
I was expecting a full on rock pub with a good alternative crowd. Not at all.
Fast friendly service at the bar.
The area is a complete shithole. 10 min walk from the station where we were hassled and abused as soon as we got off the tube. Dirty disgusting streets people gobbing everywhere with gangs of youths leering and comments to my girlfriend and sucking their teeth. pretty tense atmosphere even between themselves.

The Duke Of Cambridge, Hounslow

West London has been waiting for a pub like this for years: Saturday night it is now host to the famous Rock night "The Pit" with the best doormen in London.
Live bands are on the agenda to.
They are slowly installing a collection of macabre decor that looks amazing.

The Lamb Brewery, Chiswick

I only drink Cider and now since the refurb they only sell bottles of Magners instead of Cider on tap. I didn't even bother asking how much seeing it is a rip off in all other pubs and this pub is expensive anyway

The Tabard, Turnham Green

One pub I had not bothered with after living in Chiswick 5 years as it is a bit out of the way for me, but after reading a prevous poster saying the staff were Gothics I was tempted to go being a Goth myself and fed up with all the local casual or old man pubs with sport showing.
There were NO Goths behind the bar, but on entry the pub seemed small and grotty, the food looked good so we found a table and orderd. I decided to go for a wander, it was only then I realised the pub is much bigger than seems and a nicer carpeted area around the backm, so we moved there. The food was great, service good and freindly and attentive. Would def go back. THey do unfortunately show the football though.
Pity all these pubs chase the same market.

The Vibe Bar, Shoreditch

After walking the whole length of Brick Lane ane 3/4 back tring to find the place asking people who didn't know, didn't speak English or street nutters! (one said he would tell us for 8000)
After 45 mins we eventually see a tiny poster to advertise the gig. The place was in the far corner of a packed court yard (off Brick Lane not on it)
A non descript building. go upstairs to see a bundle of people trying to get in. No queuing system. Security not in control, not saying what is going on, not letting anybody in even though pleanty of room.
Trouble was because the gig is free it attracts all sorts and the real fans can not gain access.
Wont ever return no matter who is playing.
Ended up in nice curry house instead

Prince Of Wales, Clapham

Fantastic friendly little pub. The decor is rather bizarre, with artifacts collected from all over the world. A couple of the tables are like old junior school desks. Very unique and interesting. Good atmosphere.

The Lamb Brewery, Chiswick

Urghhh! Shite pub. I was served a miserable shrivelled burger and dried up poor excuses for chips.
My pint had at least 3 gulps missing from the top of the glass.
Been past it at night. would not like to go insside

The Half Moon, Putney

Great local night out to see bands.
The Jamm always rock the house.
Good atmos, good beer, good staff

The Plough and Harrow, Hammersmith

Massive pub. Only ever been here for lunch, but food tasty large portions and cheap. Few different Ciders and Perrys available which is nice.

The Mitre Hotel, Tooting

This is the worst pub I have ever had the misfortune to step into. Infact it was so bad I insisted on sitting outside the front in the cold just to avoid the unfriendliness (Think of The Slaughtered Lamb pub in American Werewolf only worse).
Slurring pissheads picking fights and shouting at TVs.

The Bulls Head, Chiswick

More of a resturant than a pub. Extensive menu, great food, nice staff. Nice views of the river.

Birdcage, Chiswick

My fav Chiswick pub! I am not gay but this pub is very void of meathead football neanderthals shouting at TV screens. Friendly staff who make sure you get a full pint. Nice decor good atmos. has fun drag nights etc

The Old Pack Horse, Chiswick

Great friendly pub. The thai resturant at the back is qite nice. The decor makes you feel like you are in a jungle

The Radnor Arms, Kensington

Lovely tiny pub. The back part is more like a living room with comfy sofas, TV (which was OFF HOORAY). friendly dog and huge fishtank, bookshelves with books and games. Nice staff, Good beer.
Looking forward to going again for the famous Cheese & Wine evening.

The Black Horse, Sheen

All the best places go. :( Was a regular here at least twice a month

12 Mar 2006 14:07

The Devonshire Arms, Camden

Great Pub. Good atmos. NO TVs which is brilliant. Never had a problem getting in and I am not that Gothy, more "alternative". Would like to see some better ales, but on the whole a good pint is served.
A nice place to go after a days shopping in the market or before one of the Electric Ballroom club nights.

The Intrepid Fox, Soho

A rock pub for rock people, been drinking here since 87. Love it

12 Mar 2006 10:45

Filthy McNasty's II, Twickenham

Live music is alive and well in Twickers. A long needed pub indeed. Saw Glen Matlock play here. It was fantastic to have a evening like that practically on my doorstep without having to travel in to London.

12 Mar 2006 10:31

The Milford Arms, Isleworth

Nice to have this pub still in the area. Like a previous poster says. It has lost that rough vibe. Good beer and atmosphere

George IV, Chiswick

Nice pub, nice layout, nice menu, nice food, freindly efficient staff. Pity there is a TV in every corner showing sport, you can not escape it.
