Let me put this very simply in words of one syllable - This place is not a pub!!! It is a bar that tries to be like a night club!!!

Noisy, over-priced, soul-less and with the worst bar staff I have ever encountered. Yet, for some reason it's always full to bursting (yet another reason to avoid this hell-hole)

The City Pride, Isle of Dogs

Looks great from the outside, but on venturing inside found that there was a choice of lager, lager, lager, lager, lager, lager or Nitro-keg Tetley.

The North Pole, Canary Wharf

After discovering this delightful little boozer earlier this year it has become a regular post-work haunt for me and a select handful of friends and colleagues who appreciate a decent pub. I've always loved the "period features" (the cash register, draw-operated cigarette machine, dumb waiter etc...) and the recent addition of Old Speckled Hen and Tim Taylor's Landlord to the selection of ales provide a pleasant Oasis in a desert of Trendy Wine Bars
